Love scratching as a art-form, but those CDs back around late 90s/ early 2000s by turn-tablists were boring.

The faster soul/funk break-beats used in the late 80s and early 90s in the DMC competitions were more exciting.

Sets by the likes of DJ Alladin (Ice-T, Rhyme Syndicate producer) in 1989  were electric, DJ Muggs competed in that event too.

"We're gonna do a song that you never heard before..." All-time legend DJ Aladdin (Alphonso Henderson) smokes the decks at the 1989 DMC World Eliminations, earning the #2 seed going into the Finals the following evening, where Mr. Henderson again finished runner-up to the UK champion and crowd favorite, Cutmaster Swift.

Q-Bert scratch/DJ skills are extra-ordinary, that cosmic space shit he did with Kool Keith/Dr Octagon sounded like a Looney Tunes 'Marvin The Martian' cartoon...

Dre's never called him to scratch a hook, back-ground etc...  >:(

This a great DJ/Scratch documentary -

(Haters be crying about turn-tables replacing the gutair as number one 'instrument' sold back in 2001)

Directed by Doug Pray and released in 2001 the film explores the world of the hip-hop DJ. From the birth of hip-hop, when pioneering DJ's began extending breaks on their party records (which helped inspire break dancing and rap), to the invention of scratching and beat-juggling vinyl, to its more recent explosion as a musical movement called turntablism, it's a story of unknown underdogs and serious virtuosos who have radically changed the way we hear, play and create music.

Featuring interviews with :
Grand Wizard Theodore, Afrika Bambaataa, Grand Master Flash, DJ Flare, DJ Craze along with DJ Jazzy Jay, DJ Premier, Dilated Peoples and many others.
