Shame this never saw the light of day when it was intended. Woulda been a hit. The LL Cool J version was lukewarm.

Yup. Always thought that beat was way too good for LL. I mean he's a pioneer but the original one would've been huge.

Another version of this beat was on King T's unreleased Aftermath album.

some piece of shit named "Tha Row Ryda" is sending copyright strikes claiming he owns the 2Pac copyrights, to have my channel removed. It's been terminated, then re-instated, then terminated again, etc. for a couple of weeks now. He runs a YT account where he posts stuff he either snagged from our Discord server, or managed to get some poor unsuspecting soul to share with him. He's posting AI 2Pac shit and saying they are unheards that he will leak if you join his discord lol. Major troll. He snagged that LBC Crew ref CD from the server (or managed to get it from someone that downloaded it) and recently posted it on his YT trying to take credit. Hence why I'm posting it up.

https://www.youtube.com/@ThaRowRyda/videos

When you look at his channel, you might mistakenly think this is a guy who has some shit. You see that follower count and think "damn, how can this guy be so bad?" Until you realize that, for example, his second most recent video "Can't C Me DAT Instrumental" was created using AI split algorithms on www.mvsep.com and the picture is AI generated. And then you scroll further down and find some unheard 2Pac feat. Crooked I AI generated "unheard exclusive" clip and you comment and ask "is this AI?" and he puts a block on your account so your comments aren't visible to anyone but yourself. And then he invites you to his Discord server and gives you an interview asking you if you are a spy for the 2Pac Scene and kicking you if you say one bad word about Suge Knight or General Grievous (from Star Wars), who he has a separate account called GeneralGrievousHeroTCW where he posts fan theories about how the villain General Grievous is in fact a hero, and basing it on "facts" from the animated kids series "The Clone Wars". He is at war with our Discord server because we kicked him one year ago for being a fucking asshole. Let that sink in, he's been doing this shit for about a year now. Trying to get at us, reporting us, issuing strikes against our YT channel, making alt accounts and trying to recruit people to spy in our server and send him any exclusive download links or info about what we say about him. He has nearly 17k followers but look at the view count on his videos. I am convinced he has bought followers on darkweb websites lol. I could literally write a book about how fucking retarded this guy is. This is just a PSA since he is preying on Death Row fans and a lot of people here fall in that category. Seriously watch out, and come hang if you want more hard evidence about who this guy is. He was in our server for 2 years before we banned him and all his chat history is there and searchable.

Anyway, sorry but I really hate this fucking guy. Worst of the worst as far as forum trolls go, and I've been around on forums since 99. Anyway, any mixes/restorations I post on YT also go in this folder:

Says video unavailable but if it's the one I'm thinking of it's been floating around on the net since 2000 when MP3's were first blowing up.

It has the sexy ass Dawn Robinson on it and using the same sample Dre always uses like on "Smoke Weed" unreleased track and Dre's listen to it in the NWA movie in his bedroom coming of age—"My Life in the Sunshine" one of the most overused samples in rap seems all West Coast 90's rap artists grew up with parents playing that song in the house.

But that Bullworth soundtrack was a low point for Dre's career.  Aftermath gets commissioned to submit the lead single for the album and supply other joints like "Eve of Destruction" produced by Mel-Man, and Dre does this video with LL (filling in when Snoop couldn't get cleared and Dawn also removed from the track).  Was supposed to be some big reunion moment for Dre and Snoop that never happened.  And it was just a low moment commercially for Dre.  He'd had two albums under-perform already, and then as far as soundtracks goes the guy had went from epic theatrical bangers like "Natural Born Killaz" and "Heads Ringing" to the lukewarm/averahe "Zoom".

And all there were that summer were rumors that he was getting back with Snoop for a Make Ups to Breakups album that clearly wasn't happening and working on another solo project with unknown artists.

Dre had a King Tee album being promised and single released and it doesn't even drop...

...then Eminem to the rescue.  There's an article that summer about Dre signing a white MC "with skills" from the Motor City and the rest is history.

...and btw, I'm speaking objectively cause I have a special place in my memory for this supposedly "down period" for Dre and I still bang music and always posting about this forgotten post-"California Love" to pre-"My Name Is" portion of Dre's career is fascinating to me.  It feels like a lost land like traveling beyond Antarctica 🇦🇶 (on a flat earth)

Nah, I did this restoration like last month :P I utilized AI stem separation tech, which if you're not up to date on that front basically now allows you to feed it a song which it then proceeds to split into near perfect acapella/instrumental versions. There are all kinds of AI models, some let you create isolated stems. So what I did was extract the vocal layer from the Dre/Snoop version and mix it with the Dre/LL Cool J instrumental. There was a little more tedious fine work but that's the jist of it. It's significantly better sounding than the old rip.

The YouTube channel is currently down because a "rival" has been sending fraudulent copyright strikes at me because he was banned from the 2Pac Scene discord server. I'm in the process of having the strikes removed. Meantime, I posted a link in my previous post (the one before yours :P) to a MEGA folder where I post FLAC format downloads of all my restorations/"remixes". Check it out!

You've done an excellent job. have you considered doing the same for Rat-Tat-Tat-Tat and using the Warren G instrumental? Granted it's slightly different but might be a good indicator of what it woud've sounded like in better Q
