What is your favorite post 2000 Cypress Hill album?
« on: April 16, 2026, 02:55:04 PM »
To me there are only 3 albums we can take serious if we are talking about post 2000 cypress music.

Skull & Bones
Stoned Raiders
Till Death Do Us Part

What is your favorite? Those 3 albums have same vibe. Combination of west coast vibe beats and nu metal songs. Maybe till death do us part a bit different because beside west coast beats and nu metal songs it has a few 90s dark and latin cypress vibe songs like till death comes, latin thugs, one last cigarette and that makes that album to be my favorite post 2000 cypress album. What do you think?

However i always wondwe who the fuck was resposible for that kind of orchestral/melodic west coast beats? Muggs? Nah, he is not able to do that. There might be a ghost producer and musician.

Cypress Hill sucks and they are over-rated.  Yeah I said it!

I didn't even like "Insane in the Membrane".

DJ Mugs is dope though.  He's a legendary West Coast producer.

this is from a dj muggs interview right after elephants on acid album was released.

Is there a particularly underrated Cypress Hill album?

For me those first three or four records represent a different time, man. It isn't only the music you are making, but what you're going through in life personally, who you're hanging out with. All those records are good, man. The only record we did that I didn't like, my part of it, was Stoned Raiders. We were all on a different page, everyone was busy doing their own thing. We used to work in my house and come up with all the ideas. We did Temples Of Boom in my kitchen, you know what I'm saying? We came up with it in my dining room. We hung out every day by the time we got to Stoned Raiders we didn't hang out any more and my heart wasn't into the record. Like ‘Ah man I'm not into this and it just feels weird but we have to hurry up and get it done' so it was just one of those things. Like I said, when you are in a marathon, there are going to be some peaks and valleys and they are good running experiences, to keep going. A lot of times people fold when they go through certain things in their lives and it's like, ‘Whatever happened to so-and-so?' You know what I'm saying? You got to get back up man and go.

i guess i finally found out who are his musicians.

mike sims (keyboard, guitar and bass player)
rob hill (programmer, mix engineer, keyboard, guitar and bass player)
reggie stewart (bass and electro guitar player)
rogelio lozano (programmer, guitar player)

rob hill and mike sims are heavily involved with most of "no sample" productions trough those 3 west coast type album run.

i'm going to check out these guys' if they are involved with some other artists and some other rap productions.

"Insane in the membrane" was wack!

Yea i said it!

They have waaay better Songs than that

"Illusions" "From the Window of My Room" "Boom Bye Bye RMX" etc.

Never really got into them but "Insane .." is Wiggidy wizzack!

Don't judge a group by their mainstream song!

The hold much weight in hiphop!

Elephants On Acid
Skull-N-Bones
Stoned Raiders
Till Death Do Us Part
Rise Up
Back In Black

I was very disappointed when Stoned Raiders came out. However, the other day I was giving it another listen and it's better than I thought. The track list should be re-arranged.
