Top 5 Ben Stiller Movies

1.  Reality Bites.  It's not a comedy it's actually a drama, but Stiller was producer/director and put it all together.  One of my all-time favorites, generational film from my era (that I'm still stuck in). Had my fav actor Ethan Hawke in it and my favorite actress at the time Wynona Ryder as well--she was a goddess when I was a kid but fell off hard like a lot of leftists
2.  The one with Jack Black where Jack Black invents the Poop Spray
3.  That series with Deniro, what was the name?  Meet the Fockers?
4.  Zoolander   "Wake me up, before you go-go"
5.  Whatever that movie is where they have the fat camp and he's in charge of making the kids lose weight

1.there's something about marry - his real coming out classic

2.meet the parents - timeless comedy

3.tropic thunder - one of the funniest and most overlooked films ever

4.the heartbreak kid - hilarious and underrated

5.dodgeball - his goofy style where he plays that same dark character he plays in heavyweights and happy gilmore, but this time as the primary role

i didn't include movies where he had small roles ala happy gilmore or heavyweights .. i also didn't include sequels ala meet the fockers or little fockers

..I think I need to check Heartbreak Kid, not sure I've seen that one

..no doubt, Cable Guy is a freaking cult classic.  I watched that movie when I was in Jr. High (came out at the height of the Death Row era btw) and that shit was so damn good that it went over my head.  I didn't understand the dark comedy element to it.  It was actually too dark for me. 

If you revisit Cable Guy as an adult who has actually met weirdo guys like Jim Carrey in real life, you can really get the dark comedy element they were going for.  And that basketball scene is epic, and believe it or not I actually knew some nerd who was just like that, he was my Math tutor when I was 18 years old and the guy was 30, and he would call basketball "B-Ball", and he would call me "B" since my name was Brian, and he said "B - hit me in my sweet spot", the guy was a complete moron and not even good, but he was so into it always getting pickup games against black dudes from downtown KC, and totally not shy to get physical with them, cause he had no filter for anything cause he was just so into "playing b-ball".  He'd take his gear and his pregame stretching all serious and his shorts would look like 1980's gym coach shorts.  And this was in 2000 when baggy was still at it's peak.

So then he'd be like, "Scottie's playing tonight" and I'd have to come watch the Blazers game over there — we saw the Lakers series — he was fuccin pissed when "Scottie" lost
