knowing me someone can probably blow this theory right away.. lol
but I'll run with it anyways...

we all know certain labels *cough* *priority* *cough* have a bad rep for messing with artists etc etc

what ones dont?

Columbia?

my basis.... Nas... still dropping on them since his first album... and Cypress Hill also still with them after about as many albums too.

Nas seems to have a good situation. His only real problem has been the bootlegging sounding I Am/Nastradamus. Other than that his career has gone pretty smooth.

I don't really know how the branches are set up but I think Sony/Columbia are near the top so they don't have a lot of middle men getting thier piece of the pie.

Every label has gone thru some rough times. Rawkus used to be seen as a great "underground" label to go to but they fucked some artist and had problems with their parent labels. Same with Loud.

Yeah goin off what you said Knuckles,labels have had they fari share of bullshyt, I would say that Duckdown are on the come up once again,many eastcoast artists have stuck with them...on a westcoast level,apart from they bullshit with sample clearances with truth hurts i'd say aftermath always get they shyt out good,wit promotion and what not....same with rocafella,sub label of def-jam,everyone seems happy over at that roster.

Loud seems to bring it.. sometimes delayed, but they almost always deliver.
Def Jam seems to be a sure shot.. (unless you assault your promoter)

^Loud Records was a good label but i think they went bankrupt... Columbia must be good for Nas & Cypress Hill 2 still be on the label n i don't remember ever hearing them ever have any problems so they must have a good relationship... Death Row is my favorite label but also has 2 be the worst for fuckin' so many artists n not releasing albums...

I know D3/Rivera is fairly new, but they seem pretty good.
