Quik To Work With Jay-Z?
« on: June 14, 2003, 04:31:55 PM »
I just seen this news on dubcnn.com and I can't imagine Jay-Z flowing to a Dj Quik beat. I wouldn't be surprised if Jay-Z is going to be featured on Quik's new album or he might even write a joint for Quik. What do y'all think about this news?

They are mixed emotions towards this thread because for die hard quik fans they do not want to see jigga rapping on a quik beat. I think this would be a good thing for quik if he gives jay-z a dope beat which would stand out on his album. Quik is already a dope producer and he doesn't need to prove anything working with jay-z. A lot of people need to understand that there is no more east/west beef and it's good to see both coasts working with each other. Peace!

I think Quik should give Jay Z his best beat he has at the time to put on The Black Album because that way he may get the industry and fan recognition he deserves and sell well on his next album.

Yeah I read this a while back, it was ?uestlove (of The Roots) who suggested it to Jigga. Personally I would rather see him hook back with the original RD producers Ski, DJ Premier and Clark Kent, to get back on that classic RD vibe. Oh well - as long is the album is a classic I'm happy.

Yeah, but I'd also like to see Just Bleezy and Kanyeezy ( :)) on there with a couple of 'Blueprint 1' style tracks on there.

As for Quik, Jay has nothing to prove as an MC and Quik has nothing to prove as a producer, so I think they'd come up with something banging. If it turned out even half as tight as Quik and Talib it would be a gem.
