Here's my guess at what being "signed" to DPG entails...

Daz: Hey homie, you wanna get down with DPG?

Signee: Oh fo sho

Daz: Coo, it's done. (adds name to roster)

If there's genuinely a contract that has signed Tha Twinz to the label, I bet you it's written on a napkin.

The life of an independent label... lol. It's all good, what you expect, Daz isn't running Def Jam or Aftermath, and doesn't have to answer Universal or Sony. Personally, I hope more independent labels come up, as Def Jam and Death Row were once the leading independent labels, Def Jam distributed by Sony, and Death Row distributed by Interscope/Time Warner at the time, but now Def Jam blew up huge, got sold and is basically a music machine and not the great label it was, and we know what happened to Death Row. If Daz can blow up DPG, and keep it independent, that's good for hip-hop. After, 2Pac's contract with Death Row was hand written, and that's hip-hop.

Daz and Snoop don't sign contracts, they just talk to people about it, LOL it's exactly like you mentioned.  "Hey Half Dead, you wanna put an album out?" "Yup" "O.K., get your stuff together, I'll release it when you're done"

Simple as that
