Dr Dre is a bad businessman
« on: July 17, 2003, 05:58:01 AM »
love him or not, you gotta admit Dre is a bad businessman. Look at his deal with Ruthless, he didn't handle his business properly and Eazy got paid off his records. On Death Row, him & Suge owned it but Suge made all the decisions and Dre had to leave. Now we see whats happening with Aftermath, he lost Eve, Sticky Fingaz, Last Emperor, Hittman, King T, Rakim and maybe more.

Agreed. If Seer is correct in thinking Aftermath is, to use his words, "a desk at Interscope", he shouldn't even be running it.

I'm sure the only reason he set it up is because after leaving The Row he didn't want to be seen as taking a step back and signing to someone else. Shit, music aside he's not that much better at the business side than Suge.

Aftermath is still a good label even tho Dre fucked up by losing Rakim.  They got Eminem and Dr Dre, thats pure success right there.  With those 2 artists they're gauranteed to sell prolly 5 million per album.  Then theres 50 cent whos tearing shit up right now, Hopefully Ice Cube is still on the roster.  Aftermath seems like theher'te going to be ok, but Rakim woulda made them the best for sure in the business but now they just fell back to a strong label.

NONE OF THESE ARE BIG ENOUGH FOR DRE'S LABLE. ONLY RAKIM OR EVE MAYBE BUT DRE KNOW WHAT HE DOING, DRE A BUSINESS MAN YOU KNOW THAT. HE SCHOOLED BY THE BEST THERE IS AND HE HAS BEEN IN THE GAME FOR OVER A DECADE.

I THINK RAKIM SHOULD DROP THOUGH. INSTEAD OF BROOKLYN OR GAME BUT THEN WHO SAID THEY WILL DROP EITHER.

I THINK AFTERMATH GOING TO BE ALL ABOUT ICE CUBE!!!!

LOL, I wouldn't be surprised if Ice Cube's album doesn't come out either.

its cause dre doesn't have enough balls to stand up to the white man. what ice cube was talking about in no vaseline is still true today. you would think people learn from their mistakes. not repeat them.

LOL...

You guys make me laugh.

Considering Dre and Eminem were the second richest/most well know celebriteis (rated by forbes) , and is constantly put in the top 5 most influential people in the rap industry, I'd say Dre is anything but a bad Businessman. If he thought Rakim wouldn't sell, then I'd say it was a good business move to not release his album.

As much as I hate the bitch......HE ISNT BRILLIANT BUT STILL SMART

Hittman, King Tee, Rakim WOULD NOT GO GOLD so why would he waste his beats?????

Jimmy Iovine is the real genius........

Sticky Fingaz will not sell, he can make Eve sell
