Suge Knight's valet never "touched"

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A Hollywood nightclub valet scheduled to testify at a parole hearing for Marion ``Suge'' Knight on Thursday said the rap impresario never hit him.
Knight has been jailed since June 27 and could face a year in prison if state officials revoke his parole for allegedly hitting the man. The state Board of Prison Terms was expected to make a decision Thursday afternoon on whether Knight violated his parole.
Mehdi Lazrak, 25, the alleged victim, said outside the hearing that Knight never struck him.
``I never said I was hit by him,'' Lazrak said. ``I don't know how police got that idea.''
Lazrak also said that he was hit from behind on the back of the head.
Abbey Shilleh, owner of the California Parking Services valet company, corroborated Lazrak's account, saying outside the hearing that Knight ``definitely was not involved with the incident.''
Knight served 61 days behind bars earlier this year for associating with a known gang member in violation of his probation.
The 37-year-old music mogul was instrumental in driving gangsta rap into the mainstream in the 1990s while heading Death Row Records. He fielded a stable of rappers that included Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and the late Tupac Shakur.
The 6-foot-3, 315-pound Knight was placed on probation after being convicted in 1992 of pistol-whipping a man in a recording studio. In September 1996, Knight violated that probation and was imprisoned for five years after being caught on videotape, along with Shakur and others, beating a gang rival in the lobby of the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.
Mehdi Lazrak---where is this fool from?

Rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight was given 10 months in prison after a parole board found Thursday that he struck a Hollywood nightclub valet.
Knight, who has been jailed since June 27, faced a maximum sentence of a year in prison. He has been credited for the time spent behind bars, said Bill Sessa, a spokesman for the Board of Prison Terms.
The parole board heard compelling testimony during a closed hearing from the arresting officer and a witness before making its decision, Sessa said.
"Some of the videotape and other photographs that were put up for his defense were so fuzzy and out of focus that you couldn't determine who was in the picture and who was not," Sessa said.
Knight's attorney, Rose Kogeman, declined to comment after the hearing. Calls to Knight's publicist were not immediately returned.
Mehdi Lazrak, 25, the alleged victim, said outside the hearing that Knight never struck him.
"I never said I was hit by him," Lazrak said. "I don't know how police got that idea."
Lazrak said that he was hit from behind on the back of the head.
Abbey Shilleh, owner of the California Parking Services valet company, corroborated Lazrak's account, saying outside the hearing that Knight "definitely was not involved with the incident."
It was unclear if Lazrak or Shilleh testified during the closed hearing.
Knight was paroled from prison in 2001 then served 61 days behind bars earlier this year for associating with a known gang member in violation of his parole.

Shakur was shot and killed three hours later as he was riding in a BMW with Knight, who was wounded in the attack.
