Uh huh, Ecay's record is finally dropping!

San Diego's top rapper and producer Ecay Uno, who released his collection of guest spots and tracks on Operation Elimination earlier this year, is now ready to unleash is first official solo record by the name of Mental Scars on September 2nd! When we spoke to Ecay a little while ago, he had this to say on the title of the record: "You know how a motherfucker could go through something, and not even really remember what he went through, but it may shake his personality, turn him into the person that he is. So alotta of the shit we don't even remember we went through, that makes us who we are, is Mental Scars, and it accumulates. So good and bad shit, everything leaves a stain, nothin just happens, everything leaves a stain.
Sounds interesting, looks like this album actually has a concept, compared to some of the stuff out these days. "Mental Scars is a collection of my experiences..." Ecay, who was shot 12 times on 4 different occasions, continues, and he also has some major guest appearances on there! Expect the likes of Goldie Loc, Bad Azz, Killa Tay, Mr. Tan, Mitchy Slick, Lil CS, Bomb Leery and more! Of course the production was handled by Ecay Uno himself, and he's rarely dissapointed there. In addition to all of this, Mental Scars will be coming with a DVD attached to it!
It should have good distribution too, as he inked a deal with Navarre, who alot of artists on majors go through. So make sure to go out and cop this record when it drops in stores, or simply pre-order it from amazon.com already!

word

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

It will be in most major chain stores, Navarre gets the product out there.

The DVD alone is well worth the money.

If you can, get Operation Elimination.  Break Yo Self can be found on the Mitchy Slick XXL Handgunners mixtape.
