Best Album So Far!
« on: August 19, 2003, 12:58:14 AM »
I would have to say Roscoe's- Philaphornia only becuz i never heard Yukmouth's- Godzilla or Mc Eiht- Hood Arrest. I liked daz's release but the skits ruined it for me eventhough it was daz's best lyrical album ever. OH yeah judgement day and deuce were alright too.
Nah, maybe it's the bitches and the sunshine
Fool, it's the palm trees, cool breeze and one-time
This the home of ragtops and swimsuits
We wear Chuck Taylors, nigga, we don't fuck with Timb boots!

For me it kinda felt like a case of Deja Vu....like I heard it all before.
He did an enviromental type of lp......
He recycled almost every old school Snoop and Dogg pound verse.
Although I'll admit he still managed to make a pretty dope cd. (Thanx to Soopafly's dope production.)

ImO...the best Cd sofar thiz year would have to be...(hands down)
"Get rich or die tryin" Like 50 or not, although it's alredy played the fuck out (i'll be the first to admit that). The reason it's played is because we the fan's already bumed this fucken cd like a hoe. Pussy is stretched like a muthaphukka...lol

But I can't deny it...03' is 50's year (no matter what drop's)

Gotta say I agree on that one.. GRODT bumps something seriously in your car.. it's classic, imo.
There's too many bangers on there to dismiss it..

This year:
1. 50 Cent - Get Rich or die trying
2. GangStarr - The Ownerz
3. Yukmouth - Godzilla

The 3rd place is uncertain, Canibus, Defari, Big Noyd & more is fighting for the 3rd place.
And I have a feeling 213, Tha Eastsidaz, Rakim & Westside Connection will make a big impact on this list when the year is all said and done.

The Ownerz - Gangstarr

word

however the 2 new Paris songs What Would You Do & Evil blow away anything released this year, and even a few years

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.
