How do you remove vocals from a track and keep the acapella?

I've been trying to figure this out for a couple a weeks already and I don't know how. Does anybody know how? I got Cool Edit Pro 2. What program do I need? Somebody please help me out.

ImpossiBle: if u remove tha vokalz then u kant have an akapella.

So you mean cutting the right part of the wave? COuld you tell me exactly how to do it?

i do it with acid pro and cool edit, both work fine, but theyre are some special mixers which do not CUT the fequencies BUT, somehow they lower the volume of a beat and than only the vokals are left playing, and tht shit is expensive, buy it only if ur trying to do something big, mess wit cool edit and try to cut the frequencies, ull get it....
