25 MC's give their "Top 5 MC List"
« on: August 24, 2003, 04:28:44 AM »
*This is from another board*
i picked up the new XXL and found it interesting they asked 25 rappers if they were to play the 6th man on a bench who would be their starting Five........and they had to rank them from 1st to 5th.....so basically it was pick your top 5 fav rappers from 1- 5

here they are the first name bein artist asked and then their top 5 from 1 to 5

Fat Joe picked Big Pun , KRS-One, Nas, Eminem, Kool G Rap

Rakim = Melle Mel, Raekwon, Sadat X, Kool Moe D, M.O.P

Talib Kweli = 2Pac, Biggie, Black Thought, Nas, Jay-Z

Bubba Sparxx = Andre 3000, Cee-Lo, Big Boi, Scarface, 8Ball

50 Cent = 2Pac, Biggie, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kool G Rap

Jadakiss = Biggie, 2Pac, Eminem, Nas, Styles

Snoop Dogg = 2Pac, Slick Rick, Rakim, Biggie, Too Short

Canibus = Rakim, Kool G Rap, Redman, Eminem, Nas

Trick Daddy = Smoke(Field Mob), Nelly, Nas, Scarface, Ludacris

Joe Budden = 2Pac, Jay-Z, Biggie, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane

Raekwon = Rakim, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, Biggie

Kurupt = Rakim, Kool G Rap, Rosco, Cassidy, N.W.A

Trina = Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Nelly, Ludacris, Baby

David Banner = 2Pac, Pimp C(UGK), Scarface, Andre 3000, Busta Rhymes

Fabolous = Biggie, 2Pac, Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem and Jadakiss(tie)

Common = KRS-One,Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Biggie, Nas

Memphis Bleek = Jay-Z, Biggie, 2Pac, Run DMC, Rakim

Nelly = 2Pac, Biggie, LL Cool J, E-40, Scarface

Redman = Slick Rick, KRS-One, Biggie, Jay-Z, Eminem

Prodigy = Rakim, LL Cool J, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, Run DMC

Killer Mike = Rakim, Scarface, Bun B, Big Boi, Jay-Z

Lil Flip = Jadakiss, Scarface, DMX, Eminem, 50 Cent

WC = Ice Cube, Mack 10, 2Pac, Biggie, Jay-Z

Q-Tip = Biggie, Nas, Rakim, Slick Rick, KRS-One

Eric Sermon = Jay-Z, Biggie, Redman, KRS-One, Rakim

Some shit on here really doesn't make any sense. Canibus listed Eminem in his five despite the fact that they have both dissed one another. And considering that in Second Round Knockout he rapped "The greatest rapper of all time died on March 9th" why is Biggie not on his list.

Trick Daddy and Trina's lists just so what is wrong with hiphop today.

I already knew & didnt like that list.

Since: Most guys just named legends (they cant be called wrong then) or famous rappers of today. Of course Rakim thought he had to be somethin special, lol, kinda funny I think.
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

...Canibus listed Eminem in his five despite the fact that they have both dissed one another...

Seems you don't really know how that beef started. Canibus met Em' on a tour back in the days and asked for a collabo on the track "Phuck U" (which you can find on Bis' "2000 B.C."). But Bis once claimed, that Em' ghost-wrote the lyrics for LL Cool J's "The Ripper Strikes Back", which is a diss against Bis. And so Em' rejected the collabo because he thought it could look like a LL diss and he mentioned that situation in a few songs. So it's more a personal beef and Bis can't say that Em' is whack, because he wanted to do a song with him back in the days. And do you remember that Em' diss versus Benzino named "Nail In The Coffin'"? Em' had some good words for Bis on there: "Life's a bitch, ain't it Raymond?/ Here, let me break it this shit down in laymen's terms for you just to make sure that you can understand this/ And Canibus ain't using too many complicated fuckin' words for you." So the beef is almost over and if not, they are respecting each other though.

...And considering that in Second Round Knockout he rapped "The greatest rapper of all time died on March 9th" why is Biggie not on his list...

Yeah, that's what I'm suprised about ???

I ordered it from hiphopsite.com, and it's not here yet.

I don't think they ship it untill the release date so I might have to wait 'till next week to get it.   >:(

He's not a big name but I'm kinda suprised it's not ripped and on mIRC yet.

*cant understand why Biggie is on Snoops list when Eazy and Cube are left off*
"One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. "Which road do I take?" she asked. "Where do you want to go?" was his response. "I don't know," Alice answered. "Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."
