Death Row Records Danny Boy LP This Fall
« on: August 26, 2003, 05:54:03 AM »
While continuing to fuel sales of last year's Dysfunktional Family Soundtrack, Death Row Records recording artist Danny Boy is hard at work on his debut album which finds the neo-soulman partying, analyzing his life's missteps and dealing with relationships.

The R&B crooner said he is pleased with the album thus far and stated the new material is "more mature and more me now" than his early work on 1994's Murder Was The Case Soundtrack.

Aside from working on tracks with Death Row Records label mates, DB revealed that he has been working with artists from his home town Chicago and R&B sensations such as Jodeci and Mary J Blige.

"Suge has been putting his touch that he knows, which is how to make albums and artists happen, he's putting that touch in it," Danny told AllHipHop.com. "Were really trying to make it happen and this time we want to represent world-wide, we want to be universal and elevate."

Death Row Records intends to release Danny Boy's still-untitled album sometime in the fall. The singer is still in the studio completing songs, which sees the R&B star returning to the smooth soul and erotic funk that he's known for.

DB's website (www.DBSoul.com) recently posted new material from the album. Death Row Records is also gearing up to release Death Row Presents 2Pac Nu-Mixx Klazzics in October and Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes; second solo album, recorded under the moniker N.I.N.A. Shortly before her death last year, Left Eye's first solo venture, Supernova, was released overseas by Arista Records in 2001

Erm... is Danny Boy talking about the same Suge I'm thinking of? Is this the guy that's making Crooked's album and career "happen"? Shurely shome mishtake?

Words from TobyTizzle of Tha Row....

I think out of most current artist, Danny Boy's album deserves to have a 2Pac guest appearance. We can argue night and day about Pac being on a Crook album, a Ja Rule album, a Nas album, an Eastwood album etc. But it seemed pretty obvious DB and Pac where tight.

Not only did the 2 share a close relationship with Suge (which u would think would cross over at times, meaning time spent all together), they recorded some classic songs 2gether: 'Toss It Up', 'I Aint Mad At Cha', 'Heaven Aint Hard 2 Find', 'Picture Me Rollin', 'Whatz ya Phone #', 'Lil Homies' and quite possibly more.

In the book 'Rebel for the hell of it', the author details the hospital in which 2Pac passed in, and said that Danny was outside Pacs room crying at the news. Not pointing the finger, but several artist who claim to be tight with Pac werent mentioned. I never heard a bad word about Danny in Pacs interviews etc.

So my point is, when DB's album (finally) drops, I think a song should feature this duo one more time.

Even though i hate Death Row at this point, I am interested in Danny Boy's LP.  I always felt sorry for that guy cuz hes so damn talented and he never released an album.  Damn, hes been around like 9 years, its about time he gets to release a fuckin album.
