Live from New York, it's The Rock...again!
With his new movie The Rundown set to hit the big screen next month, The People's Champ will be hosting the season premiere of NBC's Saturday Night Live on Oct 4.
It will mark the third time that Dwayne Johnson has hosted the popular comedy show. The Rock headlined the live, 90-minute program to promote WrestleMania 2000 and again in 2002 as The Scorpion King was released in theaters.
The People's Champ joins Hulk Hogan as the only professional wrestlers to headline the program.
As impressive as it is hosting the show for a third time, The Rock has a long way to go for the all-time hosting record. Steve Martin is a 13 timer, John Goodman has a dozen under his belt, while Buck Henry and Alec Baldwin have hosted 10. Chevy Chase hosted nine shows, Tom Hanks has seven, while Elliot Gould and Danny DeVito have six. Candice Bergen, Bill Murray and Christopher Walken have five each.
