i'm pretty sure Teddy Riley has commented on the issue, and it seems Dre might have tried to take some credit for it or something.

You're saying Dre tried to take the credit for a song he didn't really produce?

Why would you say something that vicious?

 ;)

Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure the 'I Ain't Mad Atcha' / 'Don't Leave' sample is from an old Teddy Pendergrass tune.

I remember Dre was being interviewed around that time and he was congratulated for No Diggity and he said that "Teddy Hooked it".  I assume that was his way of saying that Teddy Riley produced it.

Shit, I always thought that Dre produced 'No diggity' until I looked at the linear notes and saw Teddy Riley's name there.  But like teecee said, the Outlawz said in XXL that Dre already produced the beat, but then sold it.

Well, The outlaws say in the new XXL that Toss it Up is their least favourite song on  Makeveli cuz it was a song Dre had already produced while still on Deathrow, and the cut featured Danny Boy and Jodeci only.  They say when Dre left e sold the beat to Teddy Riley, and then featured on the song.   So who knows if Dre actually produced No Diggity or not...

didnt anyone read this, this is comin from the outlawz mouth who were there during the recording of makaveli,, also no diggity samples a song called "grandma's hands"

Then why doesn't it say that in the AEOM inlay??

Talking about Pac and Blackstreet beats, does anyone have the story on why the beats for I Ain't Mad At Cha and Dont Leave Me are almost identical ???

They sampled the same song.  I forgot the name of it though.

Toss It Up doesn't sample any song.

Yeah, but "I Ain't MAd At Cha" samples a song.

According to the All Eyez On Me inlay it doesn't.

Although I ain't sure of the tracc they sampled, you can clearly tell that both "I Ain't Mad At'Cha" and "Don't Leave" have the same basic beat.

That's probably coincidence. Compare Richie Rich's Why Do G's Get To Go To Heaven and TQ's Keep On for example. The credits of Keep On don't mention any sample...
