I BELIEVE THAT THE REASON THAT WEST COAST ARTISTS ARE NOT GETTING THE CASH AND FAME THEY DESERVE IS DUE TO CABLE TV HAVING ALL IT'z MUSIC SHOWS ON THE EAST COAST. BET, FUSE, MTV  - ALL ON THE EAST COAST....THEY ONLY SHOWCASE THE MC'z OVER THERE AND NOTHING FROM THE WEST COAST, Only if you have done something with a Eastcoast artist or changed your style to adapt to The East Coastz (**Cough** SNOOP**Cough)..
It Sucks That Artists that should be coming up, are not getting a Fair chance because MTV & BET Are featuring people from NYC, And Keep showing the same videos over and over again, and only show a DJ quik or Crooked I Video At Night..THE MTV & BET Markets are the biggest markets for artists to get known, but they are not giving the west coast a chance.

thats one problem. but an even bigger problem is that our OWN fucking radio stations wont even play our goddamn songs. in order for cali artists to blow up, they'd have to establish a fan base from their own regions. only then can they actually expand (which would result in BET and MTV playing their shit)

lets see who gets radio play on the west: snoop, xzibit, sly boogy, knoc-turn'al, suga free, westside connection

I have a question then explain why the South is winning? Explain why the acts coming from the Midwest are winning now? MTV & BET aint showing them any special treatment? It's that their record labels see them as investments not sad to say tax writeoffs.

eastcoast radio has a lot to do wit it as well. The Video Program Directors are more likely to play Shit thats big in RADIO. westcoast music doesnt get played on the RADIO in NYC so that plays a big factor cuz the fools that decide to play the videos never hear the songs on the radio.

One big reason, is like ive said a million times...the East radio stations and magazines completely hate on the west. Never play our music so we get no exposure. U got magazines like the Source, that lil Eastcoast kidz buy CD's accordin to tha bullshit reviews in there. So if uve ever read that bias bullshit, youd see why it would be hard to sell a westcoast cd to anyone who readz that trash.

As for the South doin well. They make dance music. A whole different genre of rap. To me, most of it is trash....with sum good beats. And thats it. But when yur marketing to females, lyrics...or anything else dont matter, as long as they can dance to it. I dont hate on tha South too much, like i said they music is garbage...BUT, id bump that shit way befo id bump any eastcoast CD. I might not like down south rap, but i can at least respect wha they doin...ratha then the bitin ass, hatin ass eastcoast rapperz.

whats sad is, rap has kinda turned into this. A waterdown version of itself. Now, because the fanbase has become what it is...the "rappers" who sell the most records, are the ones that have a bunch of r&b females singin in tha hooks, or make dance music. Real rappers dont sell as much anymore.

For example listen to head 2 toe by Roscoe featuring Sleepy Brown and listen to Like The Way U Move by Big Boi featuring Sleepy Brown. IMO Head 2 Toe sounds way better, but for some reason the people don't think so. Hiphop fans don't wanna see new cats come up in the game for some reason. For the west to blow they got to be united and stop beefing with each other and start making music. If the west start making good music constantly ain't no way they can be ignored. I just wanna know why didn't bet play e-40's- Quarterbacin' video yet or Roscoe's Smooth Sailin' also. From now until the end of year is gonna be a real test for the west with big releases such as wsc,eastsidaz,213,knoc-turn'al, etc. If these flop then they are no chance for the west to blow up again.

I believe Crooked I can blow up if he is feaured on a single with Tupac on the remix album. I think that's deathrow intentions this time then follow up with a Crooked I album late in the year or early next year which would be a reasonable time since late in the year is full with an all-star cast of artist coming out IMO. I think the west is just not putting effort into it, look @ Snoop, he from thre west 2, he got his songs played everywhere, he even as his own T.V show namean, he promotes himself alot, he puts effort into it, he got varities of production nd appearances(even tho they suk) but c he got producers from diff. areas, whern they work on his album, they mke their ppl. lissen to his music nd on nd on nd..........

It's all about your record label paying for that rotation. Outkast is a Grammy-award winning group so Arista will push Like The Way U Move. Roscoe is on Capitol and it's never really pushed black music, so he's caught in Capitol not willing to invest in him. Yeah Capitol invested in Slum Village,Zane,Snoop and Chingy maybe they see no upside in Roscoe. (Roscoe was signed by the OLD Priority Records staff before the merger,so he might be set up to fail by his label as a write off.)

Sad to say I really think Jive sees E-40 as a tax writeoff, but because he sells enough records keep him around because he has a steady fanbase.
