If Dre doesn't drop The Game...

If The Game faces the same situation that the other 85% of Aftermath artists have faced, which is if his album didn't ever drop, and he ended up parting ways with Aftermath, how would you react?

I reaaaaaaaally hope this doesn't happen...but if it did, I wouldn't really be suprised but I'd be heated. As much as I may respect Dre for what he's done, he would lose some of that if he did this. I kno some of you all may already say I am jinxing the situation or thinkin negative, but I mean how many times have we got excited for an Aftermath or Dre-related release that ended up gettin canned? I jus don't wanna build up my hopes, and even worse, I don't wanna tell everybody outside of L.A. about Dre's new artist that's gonna be part of the west comeback, and a year later, they'll be askin "what happened? I knew the west was dead."

Well...the thing is, like 90% of the other rappers, The Game won't have as big of a chance to blow up without Dre. As bullshit as it is, and as much as I hate it, it seems like the only way the west can even have a dope artist to blow up nationwide, and not jus in l.a. and a few people from this board, is with Dre.

To me, it's like this....he sounds exactly like a NY mixtape clone. He doesn't sound L.A. at all to me, but I kno y Dre signed him. For one, his style appeals to NY, and basically to the country since that style is whas hot right now. Second, even tho it sounds dumb, him bein a blood will help to a point just because there's more bloods in NY than crips, and bloods in NY are as Crips in L.A. are. I think The Game is better than 85% of the rappers that the west has been promotin in the last few years, and he's good enough for me to support. However, I'd looooooooooooooooooooove to see Crooked I in his position, but since that won't happen, I'm down for him blowin up, just because we need somebody in there.

IMO Dre should start preparing albums for himslef, Ice Cube, Eminem, Snoop, Xzibit ect. instead of branching out and looking for new talent.

The Game has the generic style of the NY Mixtape cats, he will see the light of day. If Dre put him out, The Game would take off, almost for sure. Listen to the cats out in NY right now, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Sheek, Joe Budden etc, they all have the over use of punchlines, metaphors, similies, and all they talk about is how gangsta they are, how much coke they sold, etc. The Game does all that. At least with JT he wasn't trying so hard to impress and spit different stuff. With Aftermath you already know what he's going to say. He's getting boring, fast.

But, if Dre couldn't put out King Tee, Hittman and Rakim, what makes The Game any different? You people here hate on me when I state the problems about Dre, but here they are plain and clear. How many albums has Aftermath dropped since 96?

6 albums in 7 years, that's not a lot, at all. True they all sell a lot, but that's not the point. Dre is holding back so much talent, it's not even funny. He helf King Tee back for a long time, same with Hittman. Hell, he had Ra signed for like 3 or so years, and how many tracks did we hear with Ra and Dre? Not many at all.

I agree with that. But damn...even tho he only has dropped 6 albums in 7 years, other than the first, the rest were top top top sellers, at least double platinum for each one and prolly more than that. I think one thing that either Dre or Dick Iovine look at is that they must be hella sure that the artist is gonna sell A LOT. Hittman coulda sold a lot if promoted right and dropped at the right time, but I don't see King Tee blowin up with a lotta promotion, even tho the west would support it.

The Game does have that same generic style, which is prolly why Dre signed him at this point. But if Dre waits too long, that style will be left in the dust for newcomers. And y is it that every week I hear Dre is supposed to work with somebody completely new,  like Stat Quo and Governer, whoever the hell they are?
