ANSWER TO THE LAST WEST COAST NATIONWIDE HIT
« on: September 29, 2003, 11:46:28 AM »
I forgot who posted the thread a few weeks ago that was askin who was the last West Coast artist to have a nationwide hit, that wasn't linked directly to Snoop or Dre........

The answer is Tha Liks...remember they had "Best u can" in 2001? It was basically because of The Neptunes beat, but it was a nationwide hit.

Id put songs from Xzibit or Snoop as the last westcoast hit.

Well....as I said in the topic, the question was the last westcoast hit that WASN'T Snoop or Dre, or linked to Snoop or Dre, which eliminates Xzibit too.

"Trouble" was big on the West, but that's it. I think "Best U Can" by Tha Liks was the biggest.

Hmm...I kno that people on other coasts heard those two but I donno how big they were. I remember "Best u can" bein on countdowns, and bein on "Best single" lists at the end of 2001.

Lol, it's definitely been a while. You might be right though, but I still think "Best U Can" was bigger. I only saw the video for Trouble once.
