Seer: If you're redoing a song, you don't have to give a shout to the person who made it prior to you. I don't think it's a must. Becuase, in the end, the original artist is making money off it, that's enough props if you ask me.
 

The purpose of this whole thread was to point out the hypocritical ways of Eminem fans. Every Ja has done, Em has done. But, there is always a reason why Em is OK and Ja is not. It's a shame people have came to think that way, but what can you do.

the problem people have its with people like ja rule / jay-z / master p / no limited etc taking pac things and capitalising off of it

by 1) copying the image
by 2) covering his songs and using them as a -major- part of their projects

if eminem took a pac song and named his album after it (i.e. like ja rule did) or made a major single for his album off of it (like ja rule + jay-z did) then we'd have issue with that too!

The difference with P is he knew Pac. Don't even bring P into this. P knew Pac.

I guess you don't realize I can't stand Ja. Em is a scumbag who can rap. Ja is a scumbag who can't. Neither of them are anything other than crap in my eyes.

With that. It's hard for me to believe that you don't think Em is banking in on his covers of Pac tracks. Just because he's not putting them on his album, doesn't mean nothing. These mixtapes are heard Worldwide and are put out for very little. The DJ is making money off it, and Em is making money thanks to the promotion. Em's image is just as much a copy of Pac's as Ja's. I've explained that already, so let's take that part out ya arguement. As for covering songs. Plenty of artists have covered songs and put them on their albums, does that make them wack? No. I don't think they're a "MAJOR" part of the album, they're just one song on an album. If you look at all of Ja's major singles, none of them have been sampled from Pac. That "Pain" track didn't go over well, even with Nas on it. Jay-Z' biggest single off BP2 was that Neptunes track. So what his first single was a Pac cover, why is that so bad? I don't understand why people get so mad when they cover a Pac song. Pac is not God. His music is not untouchable. If Jay wants to pay to use that Pac record, let him. Who are you to say he's wrong for it? Modern music was built on covers. And, like I pointed out, everyone's favorite artist, Snoop, has done plenty of covers. Why aren't you jumping on Snoop for it? Because you prefer him. It's a bias.
