I think The Chronic has sold 6 million copies, but was certified only for triple platinum, and I think Doggystyle has 8-9 million copies sold. At least VH1 wrote so.

Agreed. People make these albums too be the best 2 ever released & they're not.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

There's tons of albums better than The Chronic & Doggystyle.

lyrically maybe

but production wise you kids are out of your gord to say there is a ton of albums better.

when you do all the math and put fickle opinions aside there are only 5 or 6 albums (in rap) that you can make an argument for that are better...

36 chambers
illmatic
paid in full
it takes a nation of million....
cuban linx
and a take your pick from outkast

straight up and down, right and left , to the window to wall.......ain't too many (rap) albums fucking with the chronic or doggystyle

the only way to find a "ton" of albums better.....you'd have to venture out of hip hop and go:

led zeppelin iv
dark side of the moon
are you experienced
appetite for destruction
revolver
exile on mainstreet
paranoid
back in black
abraxis
ect.

I like All Eyez On Me and E. 1999 Eternal better than these 2 albums, but I don't think these 2 albums are overrated. Fuck, these 2 albums had a very big influence on hip hop! That Bone album is waaaaaaaaay underrated.

Lyrics are just as important as beats.
