These are the criterias for "being real" in hiphop:

* You rep a color. Even better if you shoot/bang people reppin' other colors.
(This doesn't count if you started repping after the age of 14, you will be considered fake instead)

* You also rep your city.
(Doesn't count if you're not born and bred in this city, even if you have lived 25 years in this city)

* You "put in work for the set". Best done by ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

* You don't know how to spell

* You got expelled from school and started selling drugs

* You got shot once or better yet multiple times. Even better: you're dead.

Now you're a real motherfucker.

lol!!! thanks for posting the logics of a netbanger lol

Yeah, I know, I've heard the Lynch Mob talk all kinds of shit on Cube before, but like you said, we don't know the whole story.  That's why I usually don't start shitting on somebody unless they do something pretty obvious, lol.

To Be Real In Hip Hop Means Not To Talk About Bullshit.  Rappers Come Out And On There Debut Talk About How Much Skrill They Have When There Really Broke .  Be True..

There is no such thing as "Real Hip Hop." Hip Hop started out as party records, so all the party rappers are real. Hip Hop also started as the voice of the streets, all street rappers are real. It goes on.

funny, this sounds like being real to gang culture, not hip-hop. Hip-Hop is not gangsta. The eastcoast is not all about colors, and many artist like Rakim are real, and have proven to be quiet literate. Check the difference between gang and hip-hop.

For the record, the list was 95% sarcasm and 5% truth.
