Just because the source made fun of Eminem doesnt mean theyre a bad magazine.

Thank you.

It's a shitty magazine for it's lack of diversity. They prove their lack of diversity by making Source West and Source South issues. They know they favor the East. There are no mags except for Murder Dog that aren't extremely biased to any certain artist or area.

Snoop was a few months ago on a split cover with Cam'ron.

i always heaard about that but could NEVER find it

That's because they weren't on the same cover. It was the same month and issue, but they had two different versions...one had snoop on the cover, the other had cam. So it wasn't like a split screen or anything.

That's why I'd buy Murder Dog over XXl, The Sauce, or Vibe any day. And of course I'd buy Rime as well.

i guess after hearing this they aren't planning on releasing a "Fuck All The Critics In The NYC" part 2 then huh, peace.

Shame to coz it was when WSC wasnt scared to speak the truth. It was such a dope song, heck that album is still a banging album to this day

Agreed. As far as East Coast hip-hop goes, they're on top. I think that they should keep with the East, Murder Dog should do the West & there should be Down South-based magazine. That would be tight.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

Ice Cube got the cover in The Source a few months before Bow Down came out back in 1996 and was talking about the album and what it was about in his interview. He still dropped "All The Critics" so I don't see what is the big deal about the Westside Connection being on the cover especially since The Source gave their debut album such a high rating.

The Source is wack as fuck.  I'm surprised they had the musical taste to put WSC on the cover.  As mentioned before in this thread, they had CAMRON on the cover.  Cam'ron is one of the gayest rappers ever (at least since he signed to Roc-A-Fella.)  They are obviously commerical whores if all they do is put whoever all the 13 year old girls are drooling over on the cover.

Murder Dog handles The West, South and Mid West better than all mags.
