gravediggaz, motherfucker
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

gravediggaz, motherfucker

word  :D

Grym Reaper's one of the best rappers ever

get the Gravediggaz albums.. first 6 Feet Deep.. The Pick, The Sickle And The Shovel and Nightmare In A-Minor are equal to me.. my favorite part of his is probably his first verse on Burn Baby Burn from Nightmare In A-Minor

To hear him at his best you should listen to "6 Feet Deep", he had definitely the best parts/hooks. Second best is "Nighmare In A-Minor" with one of my favourite songs "False Things Must Perish" and his unbelievable verse on "Burn Baby Burn", as Hopper already said. He's also featured on "Ghetto Apostles" of Shabazz' new album.

Poetic aka the Grym Reaper (Anthony Berkeley, d. 15 July 2001, Los Angeles, California was one of my all time favourite artists...although he only had the chance to grace us for a few years his memory will live on!

Who can forget these lyrics and the amazing voice that spits them insanely:

Ahh... fuckit! Another day, another ducat
From here to Nantucket MC's kick the bucket
I'm rugged ruff flow-in up till I bust
While other rappers is flatter than a white girl's butt
I manifest my name and the reason I came in the first place
word shake your brain just like an earthquake
A lot of people admit that I am raw
I cover my ass like a V-I-M, store
My forms are real wicked like Dahmer
A whole mob of a lot of niggaz is like a meal ticket
It's nowhere to run to ba-bay
It's nowhere to hide

or the more lyrically challenging Night the Earth Cried:

I want a queen on every continent
So I can escape the government
Flee my residence, settle in
I'm militant minded, brilliant rhyme whiz
The time is now for me to shine, kids are innocent
Blinded, society got to be reminded of my diary
Cause tragically I carry thee
Misery of centuries that's sent to me
Not coincidentally intentionally cause mentally I represent the key
But it's a double-edged sword see
Tryin to be godly is hard
Especially in poverty's backyard
Where violence has taken over
Free enterprise and lies is idolized
Cause it's deep inside with Allah, God or Jehovah
To guide the lost tribe
You're forced to reside on the north side
Babylon is never penalized
For bein offsides, so many lost lives
I wonder how long before the herd dies
Today I heard the earth cry for the first time
It was the worst time
It was the worst time
The way I heard the earth cry

Genius is all i can say...

..imma leave this to the rest of the gravediggaz to finish:

"Poetic was the brother I never had," says Frukwan. "I love him dearly and I always will, we always had each others back. He did this album, despite this illness and showed a true love for hip hop against all odds." It's true that Poetic fought the odds, going into the studio despite the nausea and pain that came with cancer treatments, he never stopped his creativity for this album. It shows intensely on songs like Burn Baby Burn where he rhymes about the horrors of cancer and how he dealt with it. Poetics lyrics stream forth from a mind faced with terrible realities. In April 1999 he was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer and was given 4 months to live. Poetic and Frukwan sort through a milieu of social and private issues. Poetics anger, rage and determination clearly shows on this album, that he has no problems rhyming about his disease, it's effects, or anything else that pisses him off.

"I was honored to have worked with him," says Prince Paul, "whatever he has done musically is going to live on, and I am proud to have been a part of that." Jeffrey Collins adds, "Everyone here at Echo International is saddened by this tremendous loss. We knew he was a fighter and prayed for him to pull through, but we will do our best to make sure his music is heard around the world. People deserve to hear what he had to say."

....check out niggamortis / 6 feet deep and also nightmare in A-minor where he truely had the chance to shine...
