Yeah, Gangsta's paradise is still bangin.

My Soul was dope too, a different style, more funk but still dope. I'd still go for Gangsta's Paradise tho.

Get It Takes A Thief. That's my favorite album from him. I remember that album dropped the same day as We Come Strapped.

Highlights from the album:
"County Line"
"Fantastic Voyage"
"Mama I'm In Love Wit A Gangsta"
"Can O Corn"
"I Remember"

Gangsta's Paradise is worth buying, most of the tracks are tight. Especially that track featuring KAM & E-40.

yeah, I remember buying both the same day...memories! who'd have ever thought that two West Coast albums could come out the same day and both do well (Coolio being fucking huge at the time and Eiht coming off of Streiht Up Menace)...having lived through that time I would have never thought the West would be in the state it's in...

oh yeah, I've only ever heard It Takes a Thief but I'd recommend that. Favorite song is U Know Hoo! with WC.

There are also some nice remixes from that album:
I Remember (LA Remix, Kendal's J Funk Remix)
Fantastic Voyage (Timber Mix, Dave Bellochio Street Remix, QDIII Remix)

Again, I can't compare against his other albums cause I haven't heard them, but I do like this album.

Hee hee - that's exactly what I was about to post. Bought them both on cassette the same day.

It's Coolio's best album, no doubt. But My Soul was underappreciated - there's a joint on there (the title track) that Ras ghost-wrote for him, and it's an amazing song.

Coolio always comes with heat IMO. Very Underrated. His last album, El-Magnifico was dope too.
