MC eiht and CMW's "we come strapped" iss a classic one of the best gangsta albums of the 90s. compton cyco and niggaz make the hood go round were serious westcoast gangsta heatroccs, Spice 1 and redman on this too. Eiht grew up in spook town but he claim tragnew park. Anutha classic is CMW's 'its a compton thang'....i love that first album when the white guy dj ant capone was with them.

But We Come Strapped is some laid back westcoast gangsta rap you can smoke a joint to!! Nigguz That Kill is hype too....

MC Eihts history....

1990 CMW - Its A Compton Thang
1991 CMW - Streiht Checknem
1992 CMW - Music 2 Drive By
1994 MC Eiht - We Come Strapped
1996 MC Eiht - Death Threatz
1997 MC Eiht - Last Man Standing

1999 MC Eiht - Section 8
2000 MC Eiht - NMy Neiborhood
2000 CMW - Represent ( CMW Reunion )
2001 MC Eiht - Tha8tz Gangsta
2002 MC Eiht - Underground Hero

my haterz only mad cuz they bitch wanna toss her salad everytime she c'z me

Lord Funk

Damn right that's an amazing album. Eiht was riding high off Menace and just made one of the dopest West Coast albums of the early 90s.

Coldest line of the album:

"You can nail me to the muthafucking floor, you can bust me in the head with gats / But punk-ass nigga, I'll be back."
"I fornicate with porn stars, sluts and strippers.
Well - only on the Internet but what's the difference?"

 - Mad Child from Swollen Members, 'Adrenaline'

glad you brought this up. We Come Strapped is one of my top 5 albums of all time. One of the few times I was expecting something more commercial and was given something gangsta instead. Can listen to the album all the way through, yeah he was riding high off of Streiht Up Menace for a whole year.

My favorite song on there is what Lord Funk quoted from, "Goin Out Like Geez".

He also put out some really nice remixes from this album:
"All for the Money" 1/2 Oz Remix
"Geez Make the Hood Go Round" Hood Remix
"Geez Make the Hood Go Round" 159th St. Remix
and "Westsiders" on the b-side of the "Geez Make..." vinyl with NOTR

as well as the "Streiht Up Menace" remix from a year before (imo the best West Coast remix).

And Slip made one of the few albums I've heard where the music complemented the voice and theme on the songs completely.

peace,
tnp

Incredible album. My fave by MC Eiht/CMW from the ones I got.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

love this album, eihts dope through out it fave tracks include CAN I STILL KILL IT, DEF WISH &  NUTTIN BUT THA GANGSTA w/ redman, spice1...

...i wish STREIHT UP MENACE was on the album though, cuz thats nearly everyones fave eiht track and would have made that album just a lil more stronger then it already wuz...

lol i found it strange that tha chill didnt rap on this one....and one minor problem i find with this CD is that it pretty much sounds the same production wise, but i only find that annoying sometimes, other times its just perfect for eihts flow...

It was okay at first, but it got played out pretty quick. Easily his second worst album for me.
