Commercial appeal ??

Knoc-Turn'al

Dude can rap & sing, plus he's as catchy as Snoop was in his prime..
Snoop was a sharper rapper, but Snoop can't sing like Knoc.

Knoc's spot on Dre's "Bad Intentions" and WSC's "Lights Out" shows that he's not only in the rapper market, but also in Nate Dogg/Butch Cassidy/Kokane's hook-singers market.. ghostwriting hits is just a added bonus.

Bad Azz train passed... Soopafly passed.. Roscoe still got a small chance, Game got a chance.. Crooked I will not go gold, much less platinum, even if his life depended on it.
But that's not his position neither, super lyricists very rarely cross over to the mainstream.

I can only see Knoc blowing up if he stops being creative. He has a lot creative tracks that would NEVER catch on, which is a damn shame. But, he's almost missing his chance. "Muzik" was a hot ass jam that didn't take off, like it should've. He needs to hurry up.

Roscoe falls under the same category as Yuk. His album had the appeal, but just didn't catch on. Promotion is everything.

Crooked I will not do anything on Deathrow. They don't know how to put an artist out and promote. He needs to ride with someone who understands how to push an artist. He has the diversity to make tracks like "So Damn Hood" and still drop some hot ass lines it, while keeping it commercial.

IMO the best one can be Knoc-turn'al.....he's got more charisma than a lot of WC rappers, and it's scary the similarities between Snoop n Knoc

Yeah, but singles like "The Knoc" and "The Way I Am" isn't exactly brainfood..
It's just some trash talk about who he knows, who he's down with, what he owns, and why people should buy his album..
You gotta have singles like that, and keep the creative shit on the album..

I think Ice Cube has more potential than even snoop, because he's such a Crossover.  If Ice Cube was busy in the studio all the time and all over everything like Snoop is, he'd be bigger.  I just don't see the westcoast making any new stars anytime soon, nobody likes us for some reason.  Probably all the negative shit associated with it.

"The Knoc" was hot. But, I'm not feeling "Way I Am," I don't know, I don't see it catching on. Hopefully, for Knoc's sake, I'm wrong.

I think Suga Free could blow if given enough push. He's getting plenty of spins in LA but I doubt if that's true nationwide.
Being a LAKER is a privilige. Unfortunately some "Lakers" have forgotten that.

naw, Yukmouth would be the best commercial rapper. If he was with Interscope or rocawhettever records, and was exposed to such amount of people, that man would be it! He started it all, he's from Oakland, home of the game so everything fresh, he'll definetely bring to the table and make the whole world feel this westcoast shit!

I think i'ts gonna be someone we never expected. Prolly some dumbass like a westcoast 50cent. But then i doubt there's an MC as horrible as 50 on the left coast. Anyway, it's gotta be someone who rolls with Lil' John & Eastside Boyz and Nelly, so you KNOW its gonna be GAY!

Roscoe will never blow up. if "Smooth sailin" didn't become huge like it should have, nothing coming from him ever will. That song got MAssive airplay, but his album didn't even go gold. he only sold like 20k the first week.

Sly Boogy won't blow up cuz he's too ill lyrically, and he's not fuckin with well known cats at all. The only song he had with well known artists on his album was "California"

Crooked I won't blow up cuz he's on tha Row...duh, and for the same reason as Sly Boogy, he's too ill lyrically.

Ras Kass won't blow up cuz of his controversial content, MTV won't let little white girls hear "Nature of the Threat part II." Even Ras's more user-friendly "Rasassination" didn't sell cuz it was still too controversial. Ras is definitely ill though.

Sugafree won't blow up cuz he sucks.

Hi-C - i dunno, i haven't heard 2 much of his shit. He won't blow up though, he's backed up by Quik, and Quik is DONE after the sister beating

Yukmouth won't blow up cuz even though he's a dope rapper, it seems sometimes that he's tryin' too hard. Plus he gets NO airplay, even out here in LA.

BadAzz might just blow up. He has many similarities with Nas, but he's more real and more raw. U can't really say his train passed, cuz look at Fat Joe, he had a few albums before blowing up. Bad has had 3.

The Game isn't gonna blow up. I'm personally not feeling him too much, but a lot of you seem to be diggin his style. He won't blow up cuz the dumb masses are gonna say "He tries 2 be like 50cent, he's been shot and he talks about guns." Trust me. Plus, the Game brings nothing new 2 the table.

Knoc-turn'al is about the only rapper that can blow up right now. He has dope production, nice lyrics that aren't too complex, and his videos are "Fun." He isnt gettin any TV play though, unfortunately with his new single. But i think he MIGHT just make it if Dre is featured in his next single.

To conclude this all, the westcoast is pretty much dead in it's "commercial" sense. The only ones who are gonna go Gold are Snoop, Dre, and Xzibit. Sucks though. I think maybe if westcoast artists worked with different producers with a fresher sound, or just non-westcoast producers (ex: alchemist, DJ premier, Kanye west) they would definitely move more units. It's an expensive thing 2 do, but the outcome could be great

Roscoe still has a chance of blowin' up, he's freshhh. ;D

With songs like Nothin' 2 A Boss and Kidnap U, Yukmouth has a chance too, sort of.
