i guess what bothered me about "tlb" is that everything seems so simple on it. i mean, that guitar riff on "hey ya" and the drums are pathetically childish, yet, it's the "single of the year." plus, his lyrics ruin half the songs for me: like "i know you like to think yo shit don't stink/....roses really smell like poo poo" - c'mon, that's just stupid. who wants to hear about roses smelling like poo poo? and "happy valentines day"? weak. everyone says how "deep" and "genius" tlb is, yet it's so simple and retarded that people think it's artistic.....i'm just not feelin the corny stuff i guess

Hell, it ain't that deep. But it's different, it's creative, it's honest. It's definately artistic, but fuck it, so is Big Boi's disc. In XXL Jay-Z said: "Dre's CD is his truth. You can feel it." He's right. Dude just did what he felt like doing. Even if the CD makes you feel sick to your stomach to listen to, you can't knock the man for having the balls to make it. You could count the major label hip-hop acts willing to make such a brave move on one fucking hand.
Prolly IMO one of the best albums of the year if not THE best.
