For sure he's better than DMX, lol! I've seen that movie he's made, just horrible! Anyway, like Trauma said..

I think Boyz N tha Hood shoots your argument all to shit, The_Second_Coming

Boyz N Tha Hood is probably my fav movie ever. I just cant say he aint a good actor if he's the best actor in my fav movie ever. Feel me? Maybe he's overrated and overused, but he sells, he wins.

...but even the "best" sometime choose unwisely...and by the best i am referring to the likes of Pachino, Washington and Nick Cage lol they've done a couple real donkeys in their time...

Nicholas Cage is the king of playing the same character in every movie.

that's sean connery....no matter what role he's playing, he has the same accent...he could be a british spy, an arabian taxi driver, a southern preacher.....he'd always have that shame voishe

he's a good ass actor so really can't complain

I think he's an aiight actor..
I mean he's not the best actor out there or anythin,

at points, he does seem to be a bit overated

^yea, Pac was a real actor... speakin' of Pac's movies, i gotta watch Juice again.... that scene where omar epps slams the locker door and he standin' on the other side that shit is classic, the look in his eye... Pac was an amazing actor and rapper... most rappers turn actors or vica versa are terrible... but hands down the worst got to be Pras in Turn It Up... he can't act @ all... but as for DMX i dunno, im undecided wit him... i think he's aiight but i just want 2 see him in a different kind of role 2 see if he can really act... i think he's not bad thou.. if Pac was still here i bet he'd have mad movies unders his belt, he might of won a fuckin' grammy or some shit... did he win anything for his role in Juice??? back 2 the point thou i think most rappers need 2 stick 2 rapping and actors stick 2 acting and so on... same wit basketball players tryna act and rap... shaq lol...

Boyz N Da Hood IS my all-time favorite movie, and I gave Cube his props for the role of Dough Boy in my first post. However, after that none of his performances have come close. If 1 role can revolutionize things, then I guess he really has. But until he puts up another performance like that I'm not gonna look at him as anything else than a decent actor. And he does need to choose his roles more wisely like someone said. Torque? Triple X 2? Whack, whack, whack!

You're all wrong, the KING of playing the same character in each movie is Hugh Grant.  That fucker just changes the name of his character on the script.

*eventually loses his cool and stammers around woman he loves... check

Same exact character, EVERY movie.  I challenge you to find 1 movie he hasn't played exactly, exactly the same guy in.

LOL, that is very true. I think its probably because the majority of films that he has been in have all been directed by the same guy who started with Four Weddings and a Funeral, and has then done Bridget Jones Diary, Love Actually, etc.

As for Ice Cube, he's alright, nothing special, but he is a solid actor, and like many have said is certainly better than most rappers turned actors.

Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin
