He's definitely not the second best producer, but as a Cypress Hill fan (mainly because of B-Real), I gotta say he's definitely one of the best. I prefer Stoupe, Dre, Timbaland,... though.

I wouldn't say he was the second best producer ever, but he is certainly underrated as anything. So many classic beats with Cypress Hill, "How I Could Just Kill A Man", "Insane in the Brain", etc.

The funniest thing is every weekend millions of people across the world are probably in a nightclub dancing to House of Pain - Jump Around, and I bet almost none of them know who DJ Muggs is, despite the fact that he produced that track.

Muggs is the inspiration behind the whole Wu sound. Alchemist. Sick Jacken. DJ Khalil. He inspired the genre of Trip Hop. He's produced countless albums with nothing but non-stop heaters. That album he did with Tricky and Dame Grease was on some next level shit, same with Dust. He's so versatile and consistent, that's why I say he's the second best ever.

LOL, my bad man!  ;D

My top 5 producers at the moment in no particular order:

*Dr. Dre (favourite beats: anything from Death Row era)
*DJ Premier (favourite beats: DJ Premier in Deep Concentration, Boom, Anything with Gang Starr)
*Alchemist (favourite beats: I'm the King, Hey You, Mobb Deep stuff)
*Kanye West (favourite beats: Get By remix, nearly all his stuff for Jigga, solo instrumentals)
*Meech Wells (favourite beats: Don't Fight the Feelin, Suited N' Booted, most of his Snoop tracks)

Those producers constantly bring good beats, with Meech being the most under-rated of 'em all although not necessarily the best. However, my lists like this change all the time and there are a bunch of other producers I'm feeling...

good post. In my opinion Dj Muggs is one of the best producers in the game. He's on the same level or better than the other ALL the other great producers. Put is this way, NO-ONE is BETTER than Muggs, others (Dre, Timbo. Rza, Primo, Quik, Daz etc) may be AS good, but no-one is better.

yeah goldeneyeoutlaw, you're post reminded me of a couple more of my favourite producers, RZA and Daz respectively.

I also forgot my man Warren G in my list, so he would be in there somwhere...

Sorry Jome. There's nothing "typical" about this thread. Muggs is a name I rarely bring up and is rarely brought up here.
