Latino World Order
« on: January 30, 2004, 11:13:51 PM »
Who remembers them. I was thinking this summer, when Eddie was extremely popular, yet they wanted to keep him heel but couldn't keep people from cheering him, that they should have brought in the LWO, which back then was the shit 'cause they had so many Latino wrestlers who were always overlooked, so they mentioned that as the force of the forming of the LWO. Now though, the WWE has few Latino wrestlers, Lita, Nidia, Victoria, Rey Mysterio, Chavo and Eddie. If the WWE though were to ever mention a Latino issue, and you know Vince loves racial issues, and they reform the LWO, who would be good to join, obviously Eddie and Mysterio, but who would they bring back. I don't see Chavo joining anyday soon, unless Eddie goes on about how the WWE was forcing family to fight, and they make up, much like Bret did with Owen Hart before to start the Hart Foundation and the whole Canada vs. the U.S. angle. I would love to see La Parka back, the Chairman... lol... and Psychosis... I'm 50/50 on Konnan... but of course... the Juice, "the Younth Warrior" Juventude Guerrera would have to comeback. What ya' all think about if possibly they bring in Lucha wrestlers again. It would also help with the cruiserweight division, and Smackdown does have a huge Latino viewership.

then they finished the storyline with Rey being the only member left when he didn't want to give up the colors. So him and Konnan fought the Outsiders and if Rey and Konnan lose, Rey has to give up the colors and the mask. Of course Rey and Konnan lose, and when Eddie cameback, he went after all the former members except Rey, because they dipped on his crew. I know too much about this storyline... lol.

nWo: The very first one, just before everyone started joining

"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan
Kevin Nash
Scott Hall
Ted Dibiase
The Giant
Syxx

Personally, I think that roster in 1996 was untouchable. My second favorite is

Bret Hart
Scott Steiner
Jeff Jarrett
Scott Hall
Kevin Nash

The band is back together... that shit was tight, the best wrestling roster, too bad Bret retired one month into it. That roster had mad potential.

Lita is a US citizen, but is Latina, she even trained in Mexico. Victoria is from San Bernardino actually, and she's Mexican. the good thing with women is no one cares what race they are, as long as they look good.

LOL... nah...Lita's real name is Amy Dumas, Dumas being a Spanish last name, and of course she's really from Florida. And I just found out that Victoria is really from Rialto, my hometown which is a suburb of San Bernardino... YEAH!!! Her last name is Veron, which is also a Spanish last name. And Nidia is of course well known for being a stripper from Puerto Rico. Any other questions about which Divas are Latina.

...not really.  Like you said it really doesn't matter, they look good.  I dunno if I want to see Vince bring back the LwO, I get so sick of his race angles, or his nationality angles.  Plus, Eddie's becoming one of the most respected wrestlers alive, putting him in a faction would make him part of a bigger thing, instead of making him the bigger thing.

Yeah, I was talking about this summer, when they tried to turn Eddie heel, and people still cheered him. Of course like WCW, WWE would kill the originally reason for the LWO. Originally, Eddie cut promos about how the WCW was killing Lucha wrestlers by making them fight each other, and not advance them to the next level. They started out as faces protesting Eric Bisoff, but ended up turning heel when Eddie got mad that Billy Kidman was the cruiserweight champ, instead of a Luchador, and WCW seemed to be making Kidman almost like the cruiserweight DDP to Eddie's Hollywood, with Rey the wild card. They could have had a great thing if they stuck to trying to advance Lucha star's but instead killed off a good angle. I could see WWE doing the same thing, and Vince of course likes to get more racist than WCW did, so in the end, it might have been good to keep them off TV. But I would love to buy another shirt, my shirt is all ripped up now... lol, Also seeing La Parka with his chair, and Psychosis, and Juvitude would really help out the cruiserweight division, though La Parka is far from a cruiserweight, the former chairman of WCW still is great to see.

They can still bring those guys in, but they should just push them because they're talented, not because they need to push Latino wrestlers.  That's why Eddie's so successful right now, he's just cool, and a great wrestler, he's funny, he has Mic Skills, and everybody sees it.  Nobody cares if he's mexican or not.  If they put Eddie and a bunch of guys in an angle where they're all bitching about how Mexicans don't get pushed, then the angle will be that they don't get pushed, lol.  I mean shit, just have them come in and wrestle well, they'll push themselves.

Vince's problem isn't against latino wrestlers, it's against the high-flying libre/cruiserweight style.  It makes the Big Show look bad when Rey Rey can do twisting planchas and shit and Big Show can't even climb the ropes.  So Vince thinks if he lets the little guys go crazy and do all their high-risk moves, it'll make the guys who can't do them look inferior.  He's always thought that, that's why he makes all the cruiserweights stay grounded for the main part.

BTW, this speaks with the greater problem in society that people have YET to realize.  The reason Eddie's popular isn't because people say "Oh, I guess Mexicans are all right afterall"... it's because people say "Oh, I guess he's a great wrestler afterall".  Think about that one
