A QUESTION FOR THE HOMIES OF THIS FORUM
« on: February 03, 2004, 04:19:55 AM »
Who in here knows who are the 3 guys in my avatar? Cause here i'm reading 98% of the stuff about commercial rap, G-Unit, Tha Game, Snoop, Dre, Daz, Death Row, etc...

I got no problems about that, i'm in this board from years, and them rappers are TIGHT as fuck! I just wanted to ask you all: do you know rappers like Killa Tay, KJ, Laroo, C-BO, Luni Coleone, Mavaless, Guce, Pizzo, J-Dubb, Agerman, Spice 1, Nutty, 4Tay, Mobaloti, Bosko, etc too?

Cause they are West Coast too! If y'all know about them, why there are no topics/posts about them? Arent you all a lil bit tyred of 300 topics all about the same guys? What's next? A topic like "Snoop Dogg is shitting right now, i can feel it.."? (nothing against Snoop, dont get me wrong).

One of the reasons this forum is becoming a lil bit repetitive is that we talk everytimes about the same ol rappers or about the new "Dre" rappers, speculating about EVERYTHING, when there are a lot of rappers who never get the attention of the board (unless they release a free mixtape to download or they make a collaboration with a famous rapper).

thats very true. and i have to say i am one of the people ure talking about. but i agree with u. although i listen to a fewnon-commercial artists i rarely find myself discussing them in here.

^ yea thats what i was wondering ^

cause it seems to me that you say this now because you recently got into those bay artists but most of your earlier posts were about dpg, warren g or 5 footaz, maybe im wrong. but im not mad at the idea, there could be more diversity on the forum

I luv sum of those bay artists, but the only way I get to hear about most of them where I'm at now is the internet...but if there's topics about the bay area cats i like i definitely peep them to see if it's interesting. There's alot of shit about Dre- or Death Row-related artist on here and that's kinda repetitive, I agree on that

thing is... people post what ~they~ wanna talk about...

ya shouldnt get upset if no one wants to talk to ya..

if people dont know about something ya shouldnt label them haters just because they aint checkin shit you want them to out... they're on their own path... if your paths cross.. then you have someone to talk about.. with the more popular artists theres going to be a greater chance you find someone interested..

another factor is news.

out of all those artists who has been in the news lately?

spice1 coz nima interviewed him.. uh....
C-bo.. goin to jail..

thats all i can remember recently.

we get about two new snoop stories per week.. do the math

^^ that's another point. I could start a topic "Young Meek is dope and y'all don't recognize", but so what, i ain't got nuthin new on him. I rarely get to hear about those bay/sac cats except when sumbody goes to jail or drops an album. Snoop is involved in like a 100 projects at a time and every lil bs thing about his life is made public

Let me try to say it differently, cause like that obviously some of you took it like an offence to the forum (and defended it, when i'm not even attaccking it). You talked about me. Ok. I was/AM a DPGC/Gfunk/2Pac/Commercial WC fan. Nothing wrong. I'm italian, i'm not American, i dont live in Cali, those commercial rappers are the first ones i've had a chance to listen to (obviously you dont start to listen to rap music with J-Dubb! You do it with Warren G, 2Pac, Biggie, etc). Now i wanna listen to some underground music too, cause i've found there's some dope underground music, which sometimes is better than the DPG/Aftermath/Gfunk etc music.

Where are the topics about them cats? News about them? Reviews about their albums? News? Discussions about new talents, etc?

There's maybe 1 topic out of 40 talking about them.

SO the question is: do you like those rappers too? If so, why dont we talk about them more than what we do now? SO ppl like me who wanna get more infos about them, will have a chance to learn something interesting.

I'm not saying "fuck you all you dont talk about them". I'm not bitching. I've noticed how there are no topics about them and i'm asking "why dont you all post about them if you like them?". That's all. It's a request, not a blame.

P.S. -2 karma (i dont care, but..)

i tried explaining tonio.. but ya seem to look right past it

look at the news thing especially...

when did most of these guys last have albums or new stories?

we all dig through old stuff.. but posting about stuff thats not current often doesnt get replies.

Yeah, i didnt read your last reply. Well you are right about it. Who got more exposure got more shit to talk about. News, even bullshit, beefs, etc. You are right about it. Well Killa Tay is releasing Bullys Wit Fullys PT 2 this month, with Guce. PT 1 was a damn tight album! Probably they'll release it, and nobody will talk about it. But i'm not labelling other ppl's haters just cause they aint doing it / dont like them / dont reply to my posts. I'm just asking if there are ppl who actually like those underground rappers. Cause if i have to judge about the number of topics reserved to them (also reviews, the vault, etc)... the answer is no.

WHO IN HERE LIKES THEM? (that's the OG question).

IF ppl likes them, i'll talk about them. But the impression i got right now is that when i try to do it, ppl dont like me doing it. Just an impression. That's why i asked.

Mmmmm.. Interesting. Look... I'm Italian, ok? Here the situation is this one: there are only 5 rappers who are constantly played in radio/tvs, they are Eminem, Snoop, Outkast, Jay-Z & 50-Cent. Point. It's IMPOSSIBLE for Italians to know about Cali rappers (like the ones i've listed), or about you, unless we talk english (first thing) and we use internet/boards to know about rappers who dont get exposure here, and unless we download some shit to check what we like and what we dont like. How the fuck can i support Pizzo from Italy if here nobody knows there's a rapper called Pizzo? You know what i mean? I can support him only if i read topics about him or if i download his albums (and i like him). Then, step two (not step one) is to order his album. I've started to listen to rap music thanx to 2Pac. I've joined TupacBoard forum, i've collected all his albums/singles (OG, i got all his cd singles, some are very expensive too, and all his albums). Then i started to care about DPGC (i contacted Nima and Alex, and LBC213, and they loved them). And i've started to collect DPGC music. Then i've heard some DPGC-connected rappers, and i've started to collect their albums (i mean OG shit) too. I've done it because of this forum, which was been very very important to learn more about those rappers, to download hot shit, to LOVE them rappers. Now the next step is underground music. Underground music? Problem! Where should i buy the albums? First question! Who should i trust as a reviewer? Where are reviews about those underground rappers? Any news about them? Any suggestions? What's hot in Cali right now in the underground scene? Who knows! It's hard to reply to those questions from Italy. I NEED THE HELP OF CALI PPL TO SUPPORT CALI RAPPERS. Feel me?

P.S. I have a Warren G website, i've had a DPGRecords website (with Nima), i have an Italian DPGC website and i wanna make a Killa Tay website (check my sig) with a complete disco, infos, etc..

What can i do more?

Oh, and i've bought some underground albums too, via siccness/ebay (somethimes there are some dope albums, i use ebay a lot). I've ordered some shit from FriscoStreetShow (Alex knows it).
