Pac was one of the most popular rap artists of all time,  hes sold most records than any other rapper. when anyone thinks of tupac thay affiliate him wif west side, he was one of the realest to put it down for the westside, and ya'll should b thankin him for that, not hating. Where are the DpG artists now? Snoops all ova t he place on these wack remixes, daz on an east side label, and whos Dre'z main artists on his label 50, em....only now hes signed the game, and nate dogg is one of the most commercial rappers out there, how u gonna put this on pac, when he was alive he had everyone together puttin it down. Pac didnt rep west coz he was told to, he lived the west coast lifestyle and had been living out there before he went on to deathrow since he was wat like 17. Pay the legend his proper respects.

Good posts WCV, I'm glad someone told this guy some facts. Makes me sick when people are talking shit about Pac when they've so obviously never heard hardly any of his music or know any of his history.

BPG, go read a quick Pac bio or perhaps even listen to one of his cds then come back talking about who gave him his style. Pac is a legend and one of the most important people in hip hop history, so even if you don't feel his music, at least show some respect.

And to answer your other question... the West would be in the same place if Pac did or didn't go to Death Row. As I said earlier G-Funk was about to die anyway and even if Dre was still on the row he would still gone thru that experimental phase and dropped a bullshit compilation same as.

But anyway who cares. You can't change whats happened. Its like saying where would Snoop be if he never dropped that piece of shit cd Da Game... or decided he was a 70s superpimp, or put his name on more products than Krusty the klown...

Rest in Peace Mr. Shakur

The argument is not about whether he repped the West or Not... if you wanna be literal about it, he did rep the west... its like me, a man from the midwest, going to new york, hooking up with jay-z and reppin the eastcoast... ALL YOU PEOPLE WOULD KNOW THAT I'M ONLY DOING IT FOR THE MONEY...artists do it all the time, step on some mixtape, and rep where they are at the moment... but in all literal sense, he's not a westcoast rapper... I MEAN THAT IN THE SENSE THAT HE DOES NOT HAVE THE WESTCOAST ATTITUDE IN HIS BLOOD... the westcoast is a state of mind, its a know how on your style of music. 2pac had Dre produce his records, he lived for now and not for later. It doesn't matter whether your actually saying "westcoast" in your song, that's just words, its creating a style, which Dre, Snoop, and the whole dpg crew did... they GAVE PAC that style... just like camr'on with Rocafella... he now has their style...THERE IS NOT QUESTIONING THAT... Pac was all controversial, making a scene... getting the media all in his business, then he dies with the music """HE CREATED""" and the rest is history...

all im saying is, his arrival to tha row wasn't a good thing...

Pac was livin' out on the West Coast BEFORE he went to jail. That's why Suge bailed him out and signed him. He knew Pac loved the Cali life and would fit perfectly in with the rest of the Westcoast acts he had. That's also why as soon as Pac was bailed out he did "California Love" w/ Dre. I do half agree with your last statement though.
