LA's Most Dangerous Pedestrian Areas


All statistics were obtained from individual traffic divisions of the Los Angeles Police Department. all statistics are based on 2003 data

Central Traffic Division
Total pedestrian accidents: 904
Pedestrian Fatalities: 23
Dangerous intersections: (exact numbers not avail)
Union/6th
Maryland/Alvarado
Alameda/7th
Vermont/4th


South Traffic Division
Total pedestrian accidents: 624
Pedestrian Fatalities: (not avail)
Streets - repeat offenders:
77th Division: 218 accidents
Most Dangerous Intersection: Slauson & Western (7 accidents)
Harbor Division: 107 accidents
Most Dangerous Intersection: Broad & PCH: (3 accidents)
Southwest Division: 173 accidents
Most Dangerous Intersection: Crenshaw & King (5 accidents)
Southeast Division: 126 accidents
Most Dangerous Intersection: Avalon and Imperial Blvd. (6 accident)

Valley Traffic Division
Total pedestrian accidents: 778
Pedestrian Fatalities: 35
Streets - repeat offenders: *each with FIVE accidents
Nordhoff St and Sepulveda
Canoga and Roscoe
Nordhoff and Van Nuys
Chase and Van Nuys
Ventura and White Oak

West Traffic Division
Total pedestrian accidents: 690
Pedestrian Fatalities: 43
Streets: Repeat Offenders
Highland/Franklin - 76 accidents
La Brea/Sunset - 57 accidents
Highland/Hollywood - 48 accidents
3rd/Fairfax - 45 accidents

all i know is i live 20 min away from like 2 or 3 of the worst intersection in the country, its in philly, and i drive there all the time, ive seen mad acident there

i've actually been through all of those intersections and i've seen accidents on all of them except for vermont and 4th


i can imagine hollywood blvd having much much more accidents seeing how that's were all the tourist shit is at and all them stars on the side walk being distractions for drivers.

The funny accidents are people that get ran over running across busy intersections to catch the bus  ;D morons
