Albums sound so much better when...

the artist uses one producer for the whole album, or most of it.  Suga Free's new album is a perfect example.  I dunno why it is that most rappers get like 10 different producers on their album these days.  This all holds true, unless of course the rappers picks a really low budget crappy producer.

I like albums when the songs kind of blend into each other, and each song has a simular sound. Makaveli was the best at this, as you could listen without skipping a song, unless you just had to hear that song. Not really the same producer... but as long as the song is simular

Yeah,I like when an album only has 1 producer on it,for example Method Man-Tical,All the beats fitted perfectly on the album thx to RZA.

yeah i agree...like TQ's they never saw me coming...most of it was done by Mike Mosley w/ a few tracks by Jazze Pha (i think there may have been like 4 producers total)...but it kept the feel of the cd all the same and it was nice.

they have a certain mood or tone to them...so each song kinda flows into the next.  theres no disrupted vibe.  they actually make better albums than just having a compilation of producers.  IMO it takes it back to the old school.

I agree; for example - Royce 5'9''- Death is certain; Boo Yaa Tribe's "west coasta nostra"; Canibus' "rip the jacker", or Gangstarr - "the ownerz"

Word. like 2nd II Nones release called 220. That was a great album. Or a Nas album etc. Yeh it continues the same flow all the way through

I agree with you, but there is one obvious exception:

Nas - Illmatic

Had Premier, Pete Rock, Large Professor, L.E.S and Q Tip doing production, but it all held together so well because all of them brought their A game to the table, and it was all banging hiphop.

Esham's Mail Dominance........I think Him & Santos were the only  producers on that joint.even though the music changes thoughout the whole album.....(its acidrap baby!),it's still a winner in my book! 8)
