heard this from the okayplayer forums.. big daddy kane and kool g rap are supposedly vying for the position of Malik's replacement.. but supposedly big daddy kane has better chance since black thought loves him like no other..

No fucking way, this is just too unbelievable.
I know if I was in the band and both of them wanted in I wouldn't turn either of them down. Why can't you have three MCs?

I think i can speak for many others when i say my favorite rap artists are white but i still want black artists to be dope. they are chosing not to be. that wouldn't be a likely believe held in a white supremacist group. I want Nas to deliver evertime but he doesn't every time Sage does. so Sage gets my $15 regardless or his status. fuck your status perception and labels you use.

Kool G Rap? The Roots? that shit would be weird in a dope way. Roots handing out some live Thug sounds for G Rap would be off the hook. This could also be Big Daddy Kanes shot back in the game.

2nd I'd luv to see em both even tho Kool G Rap's style is kinda different from The Roots'. But yeah if two of the best MCs ever want it then you can really let em both, damn

Would be crazy.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...
Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

Can't see Kool G Rap being true because his style is completly different to that of the Roots, but Big Daddy Kane is definitely a possibility. Heard he was doing a few joints with Little Brother/9th Wonder recently as well, which should be real dope.

What happened to Malik B anyway? Either of them would be cool but I'd vote for Kane. His style would mesh better with the group IMO.

I don't know about this one...
Would be great to see one of my favorite rappers join the Roots. I'd see Kane doing it, but "Giancana" joining a liberal hip hop force?
Think!
