When I first heard this album I was a braindead and exploited 17 year old.  I didn't understand some of the references they were using in their raps.  To go back and listen to that album now after all that's taken place in my own life and the world..man.. it's deep.

Dead Prez is the realest rap group.

Meh, I see dead prez as a group more focused on class than race, the higher class being Caucasians. People tend to see them as focused on Whites as a race, whereas I listen and see them against a symbolic "Man" with oppressive powers who happens to be a White man.

Don't know if what I said makes sense, just kinda said what was on my mind as it came to me.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

"Hip-Hop" is a dope track, but that's because it's not as racist as most of the other songs on the album...

^dat bass-line is VICIOUS.....

This album is classic.....I don't take offense in any of tha shit they say, but I can see why it's offensive.....and I agree wit Lincoln when he says they are more towards class than race.....the fact that the top 10% of America owns over 70% of the wealth is not just sad but disturbing.....if U read their interviews, U will see what they concentrate more on.....but at the end of tha day.....tha big SO WHAT??? should be asked 2 these guys.....they have no realistic solution to anything really.....but they do speak tha truth and truth hurts, tha shit they say makes U think, bottomline, it's entertainment.....

I doubt that. My friend went with like 10 other White guys to a dp concert a few years back, and I recall saying "Bunch of White guys at a dp concert? Must be awkward.", and he told me that at least 80% of the crowd was White and nothing was mentioned of it.
