dude, so fuckin what if one espn guy has said that.  For the last 4 years the A's big 3 have been the top doggs and led the A's to the playoffs, and won the west for the last 2 years.  The cubs had one good year last year, before that their pitching was nothin to call home about.  It's a pointless arguement.  We will just have to wait till the end of the season.

I'd say the Cubs and A's have 2 of the best pitching staff's in baseball... in Oakland you got Hudson, Mulder, and Zito, and even Redman's not to bad... and in Chicago you got Kerry Wood, Prior (2 of the best) Maddux, and a few others... it's actually a toss up in my opinion... we're gonna have to wait till deeper in the season before we can really tell.

Key word is lead them to the playoffs, they haven't lead them past the first round ever. the A's get up on a series 2-1 in a 5 game series and end up losing the series. And if you look at the stats from all of those years, its been the pitching which has let down the A's in the post season.

If you look at the A's recent playyoff history, the A's have averaged more runs in the playoffs than their season average. It's the pitccing that has let them down a bit in the playoffs because Oaklnad has been averaging more runs in the playoffs than they have during the season the last few years. Dumbass!
