i always liked Loud when they had Xzibit, Tha Liks, Wu Tang, etc. but nowdays it'd probably be Ruff Ryders for mainstream.

man rawkus was quite the label .. mos def, talib kweli, hi tek, pharaohe monch, kool g rap.. man thats some quality shit right there.. and they had a bunch more.. like those co flow guys, i dont know, but they had a shitload of support from the strongest in hip hop.. just check the rosters on their earlier soundbombing compilations..  eminem did his shit for them .. i cant quite think of who else was on there.. but there were definitely more..
you know wha ti thought was pretty hot, those hip hop 4 respect songs that they did.. fuck man talk a bout a collabo, they had like 10 artists on each song, and a very fucking solid song at that..

of course old school death row records.. that was quite the most unbelievable crew ever... any song could be made by combining any of the artist on death row, and it'd be a fucking hit.

old school bad boy records also has a lot of weight under their belt..

roc-a-fella, i gotta give props for just making it so big..

Rawkus used to be, even tho what Pharoahe Monch said about them made me think about how well I really knew about them

Death Row waaayy back def

Loud used to be too, so many artists dropped sum real dope hiphop on it and still sold well and even went platinum, i still dunno why they folded actually

I used to like aftermath around 2000, but lately Dre's only been gettin on my nerves really

Stones Throw is a nice underground label, there's sum cats who ride it way too hard tho. Def the better "in label" than Def Jux IMO

Black Market released sum of my fav w/c gangsta albums too...and also Get Low got an impressive catalog of bay area shit

In this order:
IV Life
Black Market/Siccmade
Death Row
Ruthless

Rock: It doesnt really matter what label in rock but Road Runner only have 4 good bands: Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, Chimira & Fear Factory.
