XZBIT'S NEW GIG
Rapper talks about family, and new projects.
--Ricardo Hazell

Xzibit hasn't been in the spotlight lately, but
just because you haven't seen him doesn't mean
that he isn't around doing his thing. We remember
when the X to the Z was little more than a hype
man for tha Liks.

Since that time he has come full circle and
is now truly a man of his own making. Money
changes people and one can tell just how grounded
an individual is by the first thing that he or she purchases
immediately after winning the lottery. X told EUR/EURweb
that when he won his proverbial lottery the first thing
he thought about was giving back to his family.

"I've never deviated from (my father)," said Xzibit.
"He's a very wise man. I bought my sister a house first.
My mother died when we were very young and so me
and my father had to step in. We're still very close
to this day. That's how I was taught. The next person
I bought something for was my father. I bought him
a truck. Then I bought my house."

And o' boy, what a house it was. The keyword
being was. You see, while he was on MTV flossing
out on "Cribs" some hardcore fans, and perhaps a few
enemies, were paying very close attention to the episode
on which his resting place was featured.

"I had to move from that house on 'Cribs,'" the Columbia
Records artist told EUR. "They showed my address. They
showed where I lived. It was an accident in editing. I had
to move from there because of that."

No doubt people were showing up like 'Yo, 'zibit, I got
this ill track.' Some say Nelly had to move from his "Cribs"
featured home for the same reason. Xzibit says that he
is now comfortable in a new home and all is good on
that note. That is until the next time he decides to
floss on "Cribs." But apparently there are no
hard feelings between MTV and X. He's got
his own show on the Music Television station.

"We just got a show on MTV called "Pimp My
Ride," the rapper said. "It's a cross between Monster
Garage, Real World and Cribs. I personally go get
a kid with a 400 dollar hoopty, bring it to my shop
and we totally redo the whole ride. We put like 20
to 30 thousands dollars worth of refurbishing up
in there. My shop is called West Coast Custom
Cars. Come check us out.

"My man Rick Hurbish (and MTV) pitched it
to me, then we went and pitched it to the shop.
My main staple is music. So, when it comes
to being on TV or something like that it's
a natural thing."

On the music side of things Xzibit has been
hard at work as well. His upcoming album is titled
"Weapons of Mass Destruction" and it's slated
to come out in August.
