flee markets are always temporary and usually contain a bigger variety of things where as swapmeets are not temporary and usually have a more selective product line such as cellphones, clothes, shoes, chains, etc.

Same thing, Tom.  I've went to flea markets every weekend since I was a baby and sold things with my dad, my mom, and now with my brother... people just call them different things.  In Cali, they're all called Swap Meets, in West Virginia, they're called Flea Markets, North Carolina, they're called Flea Markets, too.

I like flea markets, my Dad's buddy used to own a stand at one and he'd give my brother & I free stuff when we were young.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

Well some of y'all got it mixed up a lil bit. L.A. has Swap meets and flea markets. Main difference to me is that flea markets are usually outside, and may have different things every week. Swap meets are usually temporary and have like eisles and business that have sometimes been there for 10 years and longer. Stores come and go inside of swap meets but they usually sell the same types of things. It seems like flea markets also have food, which swap meets never do. Swap meets usually always have Pro Club t-shirts, a large selection of hats and shoes and anything else that L.A. (gang) culture consists of. Swap meets are usually aimed towards minorities, you never see whites in them because they don't have as much that appeals to them.

Fo'sho same thing with Cali Flea Markets, if any y'all have ever been to the Baryessa Flea Market in San Jose,CA (it's the biggest in the nation) it's nothin but Chicano's out there. U can usually get tons of Tupac posters and stolen hardware tools and shit, my brother got a cockfighting video from Mexico there, it was laughs. Any of you who live in Northern Cali should peep one time, it's definetly a cool place.

White Cholo's go to Swap Meets. LOL.

Yea, usually Swap Meets carry the Cholo attire. I.E. FB County, Playaz 69, Ben Davis etc. Swap Meets usually aren't as big as Flea Markets, as some people said. But, some Swap Meets are outside. Matter of fact, most are.

Bullshit, it's just a name some people call it a swap meet, some people call it a flea market.  There's no 'rules' on what to call it.

You can ususally find more toothless, confederate flag t-shirt wearing, cut off Wranger jean shorts wearing hicks at a flea market than at a swap meet.

Not how I see it. In L.A., there IS a difference between Swap meets and flea markets. At least in Compton, Gardena, Long Beach, Inglewood, Carson, South Central, in the black neighborhoods. Swap meets are all indoor. None of them are called flea markets. But the flea markets such as Roadium, the one in Torrance, and some downtown, are all outside, and are different from swap meets.

Also, flea markets are a lot easier to set up shop. I didn't say it is "rules" but that is just what the differences are, even if it may be different in other states and cities. You have to pay monthly rent and electricity and get approved in swap meets. I don't know how it goes at flea markets but it seems that you can come in the morning and get a shop set up for that day, but you don't go everyday as you do in a swap meet. Also, swap meets work more like malls.

where u from man? Cus that dont sound like a swap meet. Swap meets usually have EVERYTHING u can think of. At least in Daygo they do. And in LA they aint any different. Indoor swapmeets are sometimes different, like Fanbam down here....but they still carry clothes, cds, jewelry, hair cair shit, shoes, all that. But outdoor swapmeets have everything from food, to clothes, to video games, to baseball cards, to whateva.
