Picked up lots of new Cds/records lately
« on: May 17, 2004, 07:03:06 PM »
On Friday I picked up on vinyl:

Earth Wind & Fire - Greatest Hits + All In All
Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run
The Beatles - Greatest Hits + The White Album
David Bowie - Let's Dance
Miami Vice Soundtrack
Prince - Purple Rain

And on Sunday I picked up on CD:
Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced + Electric Ladyland + Axis: Bold As Love
Prince - Parade + Diamonds and Pearls
Rage Against The Machine - Renegades
Pete Rock - Soul Survivor 2
Outkast - Greatest Hits
Prodigy - HNIC
MOP - Warriorz
Wyclef Jean - The Carnival

Picked up lots I had been holding off on, spent lots of $$$ but got lots of bargains.

Post up last albums you bought.

Most hip-hop is now keyboard driven, because the majority of hip-hop workstations have loops and patches that enable somebody with marginal skills to put tracks together,...

Unfortunately, most hip-hop artists gravitated towards the path of least resistance by relying on these pre-set patches. As a result, electric guitar and real musicians became devalued, and a lot of hip-hop now sounds the same.

How is this? I'd like to get it but I'm not sure.......

@ Tonguetwista...Dubb Sak is from Sacramento, and you not having Dago CDs? damn

@ Lincoln the MNMsta CD is good, it's not as good as Foesum's but there's only a couple of tracks I skip, but I really like his style and the beats are good, but I'd pick up Foesum's CDs before this one

Buy 'em used for 2 or 3 bucks.  That's what I do.  There's been great CD's released for decades now, there's millions of them out there, just buy older ones for cheaper.
