what has this dude done so far? tell me. winning 2 world championships without even being the best player of his team definitely wont make him the goat.

besides every goat needs charisma. no matter if sports, music or anything other. but ronaldo is an asshole. during the time he was injured, Inter Milian payed him fucking long, and fuckin much, and as soon as he got in shape again he became a free agent and went to Madrid, the most star-flodded team of the 90's and early 2000's. well now chelsea takes over. but that's offtopic again.

The obvious choices are Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, Eusebio, etc.

For the more modern era I would say Roberto Baggio is probably the player in the last 15 years or so that stands out the most for me. Ronaldo was untouchable for a couple of years, but hasn't been anywhere near his true best for three or four years at least.

scoring isn't the way to judge who is the best player , because some players's roles aren't to score but to pass or defend etc ,any schmuck can score if he has like 5 awesome other players making sure he gets great passes right next to the goal
