Courtney Love Rushed To Hospital

LOS ANGELES -- Troubled rock star Courtney Love is in a New York City hospital Friday after an arrest warrant was issued in Los Angeles. The warrant was issued after Love failed to appear in court for arraignment on an assault charge.


Emergency crews were called to the singer's Manhattan apartment at 2:15 p.m. Pacific time.

Love was taken to Bellevue Hospital, according to NBC4.

Defense attorney Michael Rosenstein says Love is not hospitalized for a suicide attempt or for a drug overdose. He says it's a "gynecological" condition."

Love was conscious when she arrived at the hospital and her injuries are not life threatening, according to NBC4.

Rosenstein says his information is thirdhand and he has not spoken with Love since Thursday night.

He earlier told a Los Angeles judge that Love was in New York City and was confused about whether she had to be in court Friday in Los Angeles.

Court Commissioner Dennis E. Mulcahy said there is no excuse for her failure to appear. The commissioner says Love forfeited her $55,000 bail and set a new bail of $150,000. Love was scheduled to face charges for allegedly attacking a woman with a bottle in April.

Friday also is Love's 40th birthday.

The former lead singer of the band "Hole" has legal cases pending on both coasts.
