Whats the point of body kits on cars

ight my cousin got a 99 eclipse.  first off he lowered his car low as hell.  it was a bitch to drive on city streets an pull into driveways.  Now he put the body kit on he has to drive like 15 miles an hour on streets.  the slightest  groove in the road it wacks into the bottom of the body kit.  now the kid cant even pull into fuckin parkin lots.  its only a matter of time b4 it gets ripped off or he gets into a situation an he can not move his car b/c his body kit will get ripped off an he'll cause a traffic jam an get his ass kicked.  whats the fuckin point of a body kit than???

The quest for individuality, that's all it is.  These people don't have a strong enough personality to feel that they're individuals, so they throw money @ their car, so it looks as different as possible from other people's.  That's all I can think of... and this is coming from a guy who drives nothing built after 1971.

BTW I'd hate to see what a "normal" person in britain looks like. Chavs honestly look like a normal group to me. It ranges from people wearing Polos and Sweaters and kids wearing hiphop gear. In the US everyone would be considered a chav.

I never got that either. You sacrifice free driving just for looks. I'm the type of dude that will switch up the rims, tint the windows, and basically call it a day as far as the exterior goes.
