...You know, the one where that country ass black guy is walking around singing, and the birds are flying over his head?

Well today I'm that guy.

I'm walking around, cleaning shit up, etc. Out of nowhere this little brown bird jumps on my shoulder and starts pecking me in the head, then flies away. So I'm screaming at the bird, goin' "What the fuck you stupid piece of shit," and I go about my business.

Then about 15 seconds later, THE BIRDS JUMPS BACK ON MY HEAD AND STARTS PECKING MY HEAD AGAIN! So, ya know, I start noticing a trend. Either this bird is one dumb muthafucka, or it actually likes me. So I extend my hand towards the bird, and he hops on my hand. I take it in the house with me, get some bread, and I feed it from off of my hand.

My brother and sister come out so see what's going on, and he won't go near then, but he'll fly around and come back to me. I got some other birds, so I put this one in the cage with them.

Maybe the bird is tamed, I'm not sure. I got my brother to take a picture of it:

Any idea on what kind of bird it is?

I actually did do some reasearch after the little incident.

It's a House Sparrow. It's called a sparrow, but it's really more related to the finch. It was brought over to New York from England in the 1700's to help get rid of the insects that were destroying the farmers' crops. Turns out the house finch made matters worse and destroyed even more crops lol.

They mirgrated in all directions across North America. They can be found as far north as Canada and as far south as Central America.

we got loads of em here.. theres a bird table in the garden kinda under my window
we fixed it a few weeks ago, so i put the bread out for them sometimes.

they arent that tame tho!


btw u can tell males and females apart by the colour, i think thats a male, females are duller

That one is definitely a male because of the color patterns and th eblack beak


Females lack the patterns on the face and have lighter beaks
