Shareef Abdur-Rahim is demanding to be traded from Portland, because of a situation which has caused him to play less minutes and play a position which isn't fit for him (small forward backing up Zach Randolph at power forward)...He said he wont show up at training camp if they don't trade him, and he doesn't care how many fines he'll recieve, he just simply wont play...Lakers have every position filled with a good to excellent player, besides the power forward...I was thinking maybe they could trade some players for Shareef (Caron Butler, Slava Medvadenko)...Think about the starting five:

Gary Paton
Kobe Bryant
Lamar Odom
Shareef Abdur-Rahim
Vlade Divac

Tell me that won't do some damage...I'm not saying this will happen, but it would be nice (if the Lakers didn't end up re-signing Malone)...PeACe

I still prefeer Malone. Too many offensive stars aint gonna work. Malone and Divac are ok, they are the best passers in the League, the defend, they grab some rebounds. If Malone aint possible (but damn, let's sign him!!), then ok, Shareef is good.

Abdur-Rahim is such an ass.. those players pick out way to many rights for themselves.. they can do everything they want to their teams, someone shoulda teach them not to threaten with not playing although they earn 14 mio a fuckin year...
Cause I don't care where I belong no more

Did you know the story of Shaq from L.A. Lakers who said: "I wanna be traded. If they dont trade me this year, i'll retire"?

I mean what the fuck is going on? He gets 30 fuckin mio  $ a year and has a contract to play for another 2 years for the maximum amount of dead presidents a NBA dude can have.. how can you have the nerve to be like "do this, do that, bark lika dog, get a new whore, bla --- or I retire, or I dont play that good no more, or I dont play at all, or..."

Stuff pisses me off. There's no soul for the team or at least loyality no more. There was some other crap going on in this off-season like the shit Boozer did

What is it with everyone and vlade divac?? How does his addition to lakers become a good thing? did any of you ever watch a kings game?

Hes slow.
Hes old.
He can only play for like 5 minutes then he needs to be rested.
He cant block.
He can barely jump.
He cant get rebounds.

What good is he??????????

btw, shareef might be a good additon to the lakers.

What good is he??????????

18th overall assistman in the league, first as a C with more than 5.5 assists a game. Enought if you are making a showtime team who's gonna run.

O yea thats what the lakers need.

Not a center who can rebound, run, jump, or score

but someone who can assist.  ::) ::)

Well they traded Shaq cause he rebounded, runned, jumped and scored. Too much. For Kobe. Now you wanna replace Shaq with another C with the same numbers. The problem wasnt Shaq, but him being the n.1 shooter in the team, and the one where to build the team around. Now they wanna build the team around Kobe. So they need him to be the 1st shooter, the superstar. C and PF have to be pretty good defenders (Malone is the best, but Divac and Grant aint that bad, c'mon!), and they have to share the ball with the superstar, not bitching about the fact he's shooting and creating, and making the dirty work to give him the ball. Him. So yes, they did the right thing IMO. Then obviously 1 on 1 Shaq destroys Divac with the left hand only.

Divac knows the game...That's what he has; It's called brains...He is a great addition, and he doesn't have to play a lot, because he can share his minutes with Brian Grant...PeAcE

enough about the damn lakers...they're an average team this year fighting for the sixth spot anyone with some intelligence knows this

besides...abdur rahim has a contract that pays him 14 mill and the lakers would have to give up a package to equal i think like 85% of that and well they dont have anyone to give up...besided what has abdur rahim done...been a good player on horrible teams..he's not a winner

id take Shareef over Malone anyday! Malone is all but useless when playoff time roles around, plus the Lakers are showing that they are building for the future...not necessarily aiming for a title this year. How many years do u honestly think Malone has left? He's a great NAME to have on your team, but he was pretty inneffective in last years playoffs...and will be even worse this year (with his age n all).
