Do you remember Sweden-Denmark 2-2?
« on: July 29, 2004, 05:40:19 AM »
Well, according to Offside, a swedish sport magazine, they've recorded/filmed some interviews and declarations during the game where Edman (S) says to Jensen (D) (ex teammate at Heerenven, Holland): "It's ok? 2-2?". Jensen (D) says: "Yes, you score first". Then, in the second half, on 2-1 for Denmark, Andersson (S) says to Gravesen (D): "Now slow down", and Gravesen replys: "Now attack!". The full article will be published in the next week's issue of Offside. A gift to everybody who clowned me. Bye.

some heads gon be cut off over this... if backed up with fatal proof
Cause I don't care where I belong no more
What we share or not I will ignore
And I won't waste my time fitting in
Cause I don't think contrast is a sin
No, it's not a sin

So what?

Even if this did happen I don't understand the big situation about it.  If Italy cannot get through in their group in the first 2 games then that their problem.  If I knew that our team and the other team needed a 2-2 to go through I would probably play for the 2-2 aswell.

I know it ain't really sportsmanship like but fuck it.  All you gotta do is look at the goals and reactions to tell that nothing was planned anyway.

Ok, let me explain. First of all it's not possible that 3 teams arrives with 5 points and only 2 teams go to the quarters because of the number of goals scored in their own last match facing each others. It's the rule that's wrong, get the point!!! Italy is eliminated just because the calendar was Sweden-Denmark and Italy-Bulgaria. If it was Sweden-Italy, like you said, and Denmark-Bulgaria, we could have fixed the game, yeah, but still that's wrong, and the rule is wrong. We play 3 games in the qualifications, not 10. 2 games dont prove nothing, and it cant be possible to fix a game like that and totally exclude the other team. We was not being eliminated by the numer of goals scored in the whole qualifications, but the numer of goals scored by Sweden-Denmark. What the fuck?? Are you joking? So Sweden and Denmark eliminated us by scoring the number of goals they wanted? And, no matter that we won, we wasnt able to do shit against it? Are you are making it looks like it's all ok? Fuck that man, you aint being honest now, but biased. The rule sux. When three teams arrives at 5 points, and nobody beats the other 2 in the qualifications, they have to consider other things, not the number of goals they've scored in the last game between two of them. That's just stupid.

Second, the thing i'm hating is not that Italy got eliminated (shit everybody but Greece did), but the fact that this is the second time in 2 year i'm hearing stupid comments about us. First it was World Cup 2002. When Spanish dissed us cause we said our game vs Corea was not regular, cause the refree was too much pro Corea. They called us "cry-cry-babies", "loosers", "stupids", "italian style", etc.. Then they faced Corea and they cryed just like us. MORE THAN US. With half of their team trying to beat the referees ass. I find this funny and STUPID. Now again, this 2-2 shit. Denish and Swedish dissed us when we talked about the chance to fix the 2-2. They said shit like "who? us? fixing a game? impossible!! we invented fair play, we aint like you italians. You do those things, we dont". Swedish CT said: "If i have to bet 10€, i'd bet not for a 2-2. Actually, if we do, you can call us liers. Just wait and see". Now a Swedish magazine is talking about the fact they have proofs the game was fixed. Second stupid comment in 2 years.

That's wassup! I dont give a fuck about Euro 2004. But man, y'all gonna quit acting like you better than us, cause you aint. Spanish aint better than us. Corea proved it. You didnt accept the elimination by the referee just like us. But still, before that game, you dissed us. Swedish and Danish you aint better than us. Cause you said you dont fix games like us, but you did it. So stop being superior. Y'ALL AINT SHIT, MUTHAFUCKAZ!!

Now continue with your nonsense posts.

P.S. Oh yeah, you still talking about that goal of Campbell, right? Only you are allowed to cry, right.

Antonio's right in what he's sayin imo, *if* the game was fixed then it goes against everything football represents or rather should represent.

But i remember Italy vs Mexico in Korea/Japan, it was the last group game and both sides needed only a point to get through, Mexico were one nil up until the last 20 mins when Del piero equalised, then for the last 10 mins Nesta and Buffon casually passed the ball between each other and the Mexicans let 'em. Not the same as what Sweden/denmark allegedly did, but its the same principle.

No way. It was a totally different situation.

Mexico 6 pts
Italy 3 pts
Croatia 3 pts
Equador 0 pts

Last games Mexico vs Italy (1-1) and Croatia vs Equador (0-1).

A tie (and we tied) wasnt enought for us to give us an aritmetical qualification (like for Sweden-Denmark), cause Croatia had 3 pts and if they defeated Equador, they were in with 6 points, and us out with 4. They (Croatia) lost, we tied (at 86' with Del Piero. Then we didnt play cause it wasnt necessay, cause Croatia was loosing, and we were tired as fuck, finally scoring at 86', with the infamous Del Piero celebration dedicated to his dead father). They (Croatia) lost the qualification by loosing with Equador who had 0 points. Nothing to bitch about for them. Nothing fixed, cause it wasnt possible. Only a win by Italy with Mexico was a result "suspect", but shit, we was 0-1 at 86'.. so. Lol. Plus even if Mexico-Italy finished 1-0, we was in, they out, because we scored most goals in the tournament. REALLY REALLY a totally different situation. We didnt eliminate Croatia. Equador did. We could have lost 1-0 but still get it to the second round, cause Croatia lost.

Mexico 7 pts
Italy 4 pts
Croatia 3 pts
Equador 3 pts

Get it str8. :)

I understand where you are coming from tho, I really do.  But there's no better way to do it than goals scored in the first 2 games.  Football is about winning and loosing, thats why at the end of extra time the match goes to penalty kicks....simply because a football game could go on forever if there wasn't a method to end the match.  Its the same with the tournament/group stages......the goals scored in pervious games rule should teach teams not to reley on other teams's results and luck to win a game and get through to the next round.  The rule is there so that games will be competitive and so FIFA can sit there and say to country's in this situation, "You should of tired to score more goals in your first 2 games".

Oh, now i got a question for y'all.

First round of the WC 2006. Just immagine (not real, but immagine) a group with

ITALY 4 pts
FRANCE 4 pts
England 2 pts
Bulgaria 0 pts

If Italy and France ties 1-1, they both in and England, who tied 0-0 against Italy and 0-0 against France, is out. Will you bitch about it? You can win 300-0 against Bulgaria, it doenst matter.

The way they did the goal difference was stupid as hell, making a new group out of the teams that were level and shit. But to be honest that helped Italy more than anything cause both Sweden and Denmark beat Bulgaria by more goals than Italy did, but that had no advantage for this because it was cancelled out when deciding who from Denmark, Sweden and Italy actually went through.
