teecee's top 6 of the week........post yours!!!
« on: August 05, 2004, 09:51:16 PM »
Hey y'all. i know i hardly ever do this, im inconsistent, but here goes anyway...........

1.  Still Cruisin-  Game ft. Eazy (not really a big Game fan, a recycled Eazy verse and a simple beat somehow equal a DOPE ass song, cant stop bumping this shit)

2.  Good Morning-  Nas  (spitting over the Isley Bros sample that both Pac and Masta Ace used back in the day, Nas drops a real laid back, chill track here.... real tight lyrics, it has a much different feel from Inc Ride or Bury Me a G, more like that unreleased Ras joint with this beat)

3.  Win Or Lose-  Mobb Deep

4.  Appreciation- 213 (dope g funk right here, my favourite of the 213 tracks id yet to hear,  loving this one)

5.  Breathe Stretch Shake-  Mase  (well, big hit right here, this should take mase to platinum, or at least damn close.....not typically my type of song, but im a sucker for Mase, always have been)

6.  WElcome Back REmix-  Mase ft. Kanye  (completely different from the original, a much better song.....Kanye sounds better than he has lately, and Mase again rips a Kanye laced track)

bonus-

7.  Jesus Walks remix-  Kanye and Mase  (well, the original was song of the year imo, and the remix is almost as tight, mase sounds real tight on here)

8.   Ice-  Mase ft Charlie Baltimore  (ha ha, this shit is too funny!  Its quite old, its a song over the Ice Ice baby beat, mad corny but mad catchy)

9.  What we Do-  Mr Cheeks  (this is just a tight ass beat, thought this would get a little more attention)

10.  Throwback-  a bunch of canadians youve never heard of and wouldnt care about who just happened to make one of the best songs of the year but ya'll would never listen because canadian rap is wack right ?    (well, this has been me and my friends summertime anthem along with Da Summer remix by 3-6 mafia.......this throwback joijnt is real hiphop, sounds like something pete rock woulda laced in his prime, and the lyrics really hit home     "back them got the best of me, and the future got the rest of me"      "way back b4 that ps2 system/nintendo games that didnt play we blew in em"  man, who didnt have to blow in nintendo games to make them work!

1.  Ro Dolla feat E3 "Cosmopolitan"   -   One of more chillin songs I've heard lately.  Dope video for the song too.  But Ro Dolla is Canadian so who cares right? lol

2.  Lil Flip "Sunshine" (Bosko Remix) - Bosko 'westcoastified' the song.  And made it dope.

3.  213 "Gotta Find A Way" - went away last weekend, and that's all we listened to.

4.  Terror Squad "Lean Back" - no explaination needed

5.  Frank N Dank "Nice To Meet You"  -  Rap Duo from Detroit, recently signed to a Canadian label and released an album here.  Saukrates produced this song, sounds kinda like "Money Or Love"

6.  Saukrates "Comin Up"  http://www.hiphopcanada.com/_site/media/choicecuts/stream/Saukrates_Comin_Up.m3u

TELL ME THAT ISN'T A HOT FUCKIN BEAT.  YOU'LL BE HEARING IT ALL OVER MIXTAPES SOON!

1) Truth Hurts Ft. Bosko & WC - I'm Ready Now(Bosko Remix): Damn Bosko came with some serious fiyah on this.  He's a sick producer and he is disgusting on the voice box.  He should really be bigger than he is, i think that he is way underated.  WC comes correct on this as well WC always shows n proves on tracks i've never herd him come wack once thats why hes is one of my all time favourite emcees.

2)213 ft. Dj Quik - There She Goes: this track should have been on the album, i don't kno why it wasn't.  Too dope Dj quik came with a funky beat and NATE killed the hook" there she goes, the kinda girl i wanted always, my favorite pro..." sick y'all gota jus hear it.

3)Lil' Flip ft. Lea - Sunshine(Bosko Remix): BOSKO is crazy enuff said.

4.) Guerilla Black - I Want 2 See: He chose a sick beat , big pimping from the dogg pound from the above the rim sounds track CLASSIC.  He spit pretty smooth over this beat as well.

5) Rick James - Mary Jane: R.I.P rick james, super funk legend for sure.  This song is a timeless hit i can jam this song forever and never get tired of it.

6)Al. B. Sure - Night and Day: Al.B was a real smooth singer, this song is sick i miss feel good music like this for real.  I hope music comes back to this state where classics songs were being created.

That's not a real song.  The real one is just Nate, Warren, and Quik, the one you got is just a mix.  The real version is supposed to be on Nate's new solo album.  anyways, here's my top 6

1. Devin The Dude ft. Scarface - Sticky Green
2. Eazy E and The Game - Still Crusin
3. Mausberg and DJ Quik - Tha Truth Is
4. 213 - MLK
5. Luniz - Broke Hoes
6. Sly Boogy ft. Jagged Edge - You Got Crew

1)  Mobb Deep - Shorty Wop - Beat is ridiculous, Havoc rips the beat, P spits a tight ass verse
2)  Nas - Memory Lane - After reading Tom's review of the Nas concert, I've been bumpin Nas non stop.
3)  Biggie - Who shot ya - After picking up the remaster of RTD, I've really been feelin this one
4)  INI - No more words - classic pete rock production, INI spits knowledge as usual.
5)  Group Home - Up against the wall - Production on this album is sickness, (then again, it is primo), even guru gets his shine on production wise.
6)  Nas - revolutionary warfare - I love this song, God's son is a great CD.  Can't wait for his new shit. Lake's line "the strong rule the weak, but the wise rule the strong, there's more to going to war than just gettin it on." Tight Tight Tight
