Just listened to 213:The Hard Way for the first time...
« on: August 22, 2004, 10:21:47 AM »
and I'm pissed off as hell

Not cause the album sucks, cuz of everyone on this board who claims it sucks. This is by far the best westcoast album out this summer, and even though Warren didn't produce anything, they've done absolutely nothing wrong on this album. No guests, no producers that would remotely make it a "sellout" album. Their flows and lyrics are on par as well

All of the tracks are custom fitted to their styles. Smooth, laid back... but because some of you narrow-minded idiots don't hear the g-funk whistle, the "George Clinton" voice or DJ EZ Dick, you feel the need to trash the album and attempt boycotts (don't get me started on that  ::)) IT'S 2004, BITCHES!! IS IT SO WRONG THAT 213 HAS EVLOVED SINCE THEN?

I respect opinions as much as the next man, but to trash 10 years of legacy because the album isn't your flavor is straight up wrong. I feel sorry for 213, cause this album was made for us, the fans who stuck with them all this time, not the teeny boppers. And what do you do? Toss it back in their face, instead of appreciating the fact that these three got together during their busy schedule, and make some good summer music. THEY DIDN'T OWE US THIS ALBUM, THEY DIDN'T NEED TO DO SHIT!!

I've given up on you westcoast fans. You have one single view on how the album should be, and if not fulfilled, you will trash and boycott and whine, etc. The westcoast will never succeed again; everyone will trash the Game when his album come out, same with Crooked I, and so forth. This album was a solid 8-8.5/10, but somel of you managed to take the minor imperfections, and blow it up out of proportions. Lemme just get this off my chest and say it:

To whom it may concerned (those who hated on this album for the dumbest reasons), a big FUCK YOU from me. You never deserved this album

I dont understand why everyone on this board is hating on this album either.  Everyone Ive talked to around here has picked it up and has nothing bad to say about it.  I was at a keg party last night, they had The Hard Way on and people were dancing and blazing up the endo and really feeling the summer vibe.  Im also happy the album has a nice, consitant sound to it and 213 is coming with a distinct style and sound thats missing in hiphop.

I agree with you on your view about people dissing the album. But I disagree with you saying this was made for the fans and not for the teens. I think is the other way around. If it was for the fans, Warren would have produced the whole album. That's no doubt.

But I aint saying the production is wack. I aint saying otherwise, I aint heard it yet.

I'm gon buy it cause I love Warren, I love Nate. I know it wont be as good as it could have been (as it SHOULD have been), but it's the closest we're gonna get to a real 213 album, so it'll be welcome.

I'm a cop it, support Warren and Nate, bump it for a couple of weeks and wait for a new Warren solo.

Damn straight!!

Its so stupid that westcoast fans allways expects a classic from the G-Funk era, and when its not (which it can never be anymore) they find at least one bad thing and blow it up.. This album is 10 times better then Music and me + Paid the cost to be the boss.. The funny thing is that I was one of these guys who was ready to hate on the album because of no Warren productions and Snoop, but when an album is good you can't overlook it.. Its a 8/10 IMO and a great summer album..

lmmfao!  The album was made for the true fans, and not the lil teeny boppers? hahahahahahahahahahah, pull your head out of your ass and get at me when you know something about music.  when did you start listening to music?  lemme guess, when eminem came out?

people were dancing to it at a keg party?  big fucking deal.  Keg parties I go to people dance to fuckin Nelly and Britney spears if its playing.  they are drunk.  they will dance to anything.

and most of all, everyone in this thread, I guarantee hasn't listened a majority of westcoast albums that dropped this year.  best westcoast album of the summer? ha.  Nutzo's album blows this away.  UGOA2 blows this away.  KF Klik Blows this away.  Pioneers Blows this away.  Yall love this album cuz your a bunch of dpg groupies, who don't listen to any other westcoast rap unless its dpg affiliated.  doesn't matter how the album turned out, yall woulda loved it due to the name alone.

I agree. Some of you are trapped in that 95 era.. I can safely say that I listen to enough different West Coast Rap music, both underground and mainstream, and I liked it. I agree "Pioneers" was better than 213, but I wouldnt say that "United Ghettos 2" was better, but thats just my opinion.

LMAO, your "Keg Partys" must be wack as fuck because Ive never been to a Kegger in my life where someone was playing a Nelly or Britnet Spears cd.  Stop trying to turn something positive into a negative all the time.

Nutzo's album sounds nothing like an album from 95.  niether does Savage C's, neither does the Pioneers.  In fact, I haven't listened to, or expected a new album in years to sound like an album from the past.  I know lil Jay listens to a lot of westcoast rap, but most these other fools don't.  How anyone could say that the 213 is even close to as good as these 3 albums I just named, blows my mind.

LMAO, there not "my keg parties"  I just stop by at them.  and I have heard damn near every kind of music at a "keg party".  and I wasn't turning anything from positive to negative.  I was showing how your example was stupid as fuck.  Just cause people dance to it at a "keg party" doesn't mean its good music.

I bought the album the morning it came out, and I was playin it pretty much the entire week, everywhere I was drivin. I donno why so many people on this site hate it, because all of my homeboys in LA are feelin it, from the 13 year olds, 20 year olds, to the 28 year olds. Maybe it's because I was drivin around south central and compton and the music just fits the scenery perfect or somethin...but I definitely think it was a solid album. The only track I think is weak is that "Lil girl" song, and 213 the gangsta click and my dirty hoe are below average. But this entire weekend, we were singin joysticc, and playin appreciation and singin it like it was graduation. So for whatever reasons that people on here aren't feelin it is beyond me, but it is their opinion and I feel bad for them because they can't enjoy the album like I do.
